about me

I studied professional writing and social work at Taylor in Fort Wayne. In college I worked as an avid book reviewer for numerous publications (they paid me in books and by-lines. it was fabulous) and I sold scripts to radio shows and magazines. After college I worked for child protective services as an investigator, a job that grew me up very quickly. And if I could choose a super power I'd choose shape shifting. I'd grow very tall, then very short. I'd grow my nails very long, then my hair. I'd look disgusting most of the time but every Guinness World Record would be mine! And that sums up me.

They can't share her. But what if she loves them both?

College student, Marnie LaFontaine doesn't know what happens to a soul when the body dies. She likes to think that it moves on to a better place, or maybe it's given a choice to linger amongst the living to watch over loved ones. That would mean that the parents she lost at such a young age continue to watch over her.

She never would have guessed what actually happens. She'll find out soon enough. Hopefully she lives through it.

You wanted me to check out the new opening, and I got to say, I love it. The first time it's William and his old man in a truck, but this is evocative writing with gripping conflict. This has become a page-turner. You really know how to write. This is fast paced and full of great action. This is the... view book

It's beautiful, colorful writing. You do an incredible job of crafting word pictures. I felt engaged in the reading thanks to the detailed descriptions. I felt well introduced to a world and cultural that is new to me and so different from my own as I read. This is deserving of a piece. I love the s... view book

I was captivated by your world building. Normally I would pull out lines that I thought needed strengthened or that represented something that I saw throughout the piece that needed strengthening, but I couldn't pinpoint anything except things I favored! You showed emotions through descriptive actio... view book

Thank you for contacting me about this piece! I hope my thoughts are helpful to you and resonate with you. "I'm sitting on the pavement at the end of my road..." There's potential for this as a hook! The present tense adds urgency even if the action itself isn't incredibly exciting. There's an... view book

Rachel's prologue was intriguing. It invoked the senses and put the reader in the moment. It'll keep readers engaged for sure. There's a strong concept here as well. To make this comment more useful I pulled out a couple lines that I thought represented something that could use some strengthening in... view book
