The loves, lives and events of colourful characters are the fabric of this tapestry of village life in a remote part of South Africa.
This showcases a decade of life in Haenertsburg, one of the last remaining villages in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.
Set against the backdrop of the Iron Crown Mountain, in a mountainous part of the country, history is intricately woven with present day shenanigans. There are stories of famous people like Princess Michael of Kent and the Duchess of Atholl. There are the Trechikov and Sydney Carter artwork tales. The village rises briefly into national awareness due to a dispute with the Catholic Church over a dog because she was a Church going Doberman. The bronze bust of the late great King Makgoba, leader of the Makgoba tribe, disappears and causes a political furor amongst the locals.
There are magic mushroom, marijuana and cocaine busts. There are trips into other parts of South Africa with the female trucker from Haenertsburg, the villagers help a local motor neuron sufferer realise his dream to “run” the Comrades Marathon and many more characters and events.
