about me

Struggling writer, like everyone else! Had a few things published, and ran a small press a few years ago called RazorBlade Press. Since being on here I'm seriously considering setting up another one!

A short story of mine 'Moments of Lucidity' has been adapted for the stage and performed at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff as part of it's sold out 'ScriptSlam; evening. I'm hoping to restage the play.

My current novel 'Match Day' is here for you to enjoy!

The book follows three people who have very different days on the same match day in Cardiff. Slowly their paths begin to become intertwinned, until...

It's a sorta crime/thriller/comedy in the form of a pop up book. Just kidding about the pop up part.

The book takes alternating chapters to tell the three main characters stories.

The main characters are a bitter policeman with a shameful secret, a failed musician who is trying one last desperate gamble to get her life back on track and a supporter who has lost his friends his ticket, and is just trying to get in to the stadium to see the match.

Leigh is a supporter; he just wants to get into see the match. Unfortunately he gets split up from his mate who has his ticket. He finds himself alone in a city full of sports fans. Now if he can only find a ticket…

Gradually these three people’s paths collide, and none of their lives will be the same again…

I thought the writing was good, and I liked the short punchy chapters but the characetrs didn't really come alive for me. Darren Floyd Match Day view book
