about me

Sorry folks, I'm a tied down at the moment with writing and starting a new business, so I won't be swapping reads.

I've been living in Germany for the last eighteen years, have been writing for longer than I care to remember, have a PhD in Philosophy, which doesn't help at all, and have managed to publish one book of short stories under my own steam. It's called "Apricot Juice and other stories" and centers around Hamburg's night life.
At the moment I'm working on a second volume of short stories, as well trying my hand at verse, too.

favourite books

"Gravity's Rainbow" by Thomas Pynchon

Apricot Juice and other storie....

Andrew Rossiter

A series of five stories based around Hamburg portraying the downfall of a would-be artist haunting its less salubrious joints.

Nick is drifting. Hanging around various bars in Hamburg, financing himself through menial jobs, realising that he is failing as an artist. The five stories poignantly describe his stagnation, offering a revolving portrait of his life and friends while relating the atmosphere and scenery of Hamburg's darker side - the streets, the pubs and clubs, the prevailing attitudes.

Dear Malika, well written, and well paced, but the story really starts in chapter 2. I think you should start there and drop the first chapter, or incorporate it at a later stage. Backed - Good luck Andrew view book

Nicely written with an intruiging opening (although maybe a tick too long) and funny narrative. Backed. Cheers, Andrew view book
