about me

Thank you for visiting! Please stop by my website, A Nail From Which to Hang the Heavens [http://nail/.prismaticmedia.com/], for more!

As I noted in the bio of my first book, Child of Man, anything I could write about myself would either be too short to be meaningful or too long to be read. However, a few details are still worth noting. I wrote my first sixty-page novella, Chuckles in the Wind, when I was eight, and I haven't figured out how to stop talking since. Since then, I've completed over thirty short stories for small press--mostly volunteered to conventions--and one novel, with two more on the way and half a dozen more looming in the distance. I'm an unabashed transhumanist, and I believe that while science will one day offer cures for "the human condition," we must never lose sight of that which makes "being human" worthwhile in the first place.

Beautiful World

Kristina Tracer

When digital guerrillas revolt against corporate ownership of a virtual world, one person-turned-program and his closest friends stand between freedom and deletion.

When Johnathan Dart, digital artist and world-builder, falls in love with a digital sapience living inside Irokai, the virtual world created by the Tadashiissei Corporation, his friends are skeptical of his intention to upload himself into their system. Adam doubts that the soul can survive a destructive copy, and Julia doubts that Tadashiissei's corporate policies are anything close to user-friendly. Johnathan does what he can to assure his friends that all will be well, but in the heart of the corporation that owns Irokai and everything within it, a storm is brewing. A group of revolutionaries seeking independence for Irokai from its corporate creators is mounting an ever-escalating series of attacks on the system, and Tadashiissei's management is proving they may be willing to destroy Irokai to save it. Can John and his digital lover, Mitsuko, find a way to stop the hackers from deleting their home without convincing Tadashiissei to delete them?

Bonds of Silver, Bonds of Gold....

Kristina Tracer

He gave up his freedom for the sake of his family, but can Stannis give up his love for the sake of his freedom?

Jedrik of barony Jazinsk dies in the middle of a harsh winter, prompting his son Stannis to make the ultimate sacrifice: selling himself into slavery to feed his family. After he's sold to a pleasure-house, an envoy from neighboring Barony Deterikh buys Stannis as a diversion for his head of state, and thus puts the young rabbit into the middle of a coming war. Baronies Jazinsk and Deterikh have been at peace for twenty years, but rumors of dark alchemy and hints of betrayal have put that fragile peace at risk, and Stannis' arrival at the Deterikh court threatens to tip that delicate balance. With drums beating on the horizon, can a lowly pleasure-slave manipulate his new owner into preserving peace, and Stannis resist the call of freedom to stop a war between his old home and newfound love?

Sessha, First off, thanks for the backing! His life seems easy for the moment, but that's because I'm trying to hit the highlights of his predicament. I have a long way to go in the story, and I was more afraid that my readers would become bogged down in detail. I definitely will keep this in min... view book
