about me

I am a long time reader. Some of my earliest memories are of sitting curled up on the couch reading..anything!

Writing to me is such an adventure. It's a way to bring to life the stories in my head and share them with the world.

I've looked at a lot of different career choices, and still am, but what I would love to do more than anything would be to write. I can write for hours, days on end, quite happily.

THANK YOU TO BRADLEY WIND FOR THE COVER!!!!!! :)

My book, Sitara, is complete at 85,000 words. The second book in the series is also complete now.

I am taking a break from YA Fantasy right now, so the thrid book in the series will have to wait :)

Note: The second book on here is titled for the site. I don't like the title, so anyone who has a better option, I'm all ears!
The book is my third MS, still in process, and I really want feedback on my writing style here and story construction. I think I've improved since I started, but then again, I'm too close to it all...

Dark Vision

Rayne's one night of spontaneity leads to disaster. Caught in the middle of an ancient war, Rayne is forced to choose sides and finds love.

Meet the players: Rayne is a loner. Reclusive and secretive by nature, Rayne is often alone and isolated, but tonight she's going to change all that. In a spontaneous decision to have fun, Rayne sets out by herself, only to be caught by the vicious Avatar warlord, Andre. Andre is an Avatar soldier, tasked by the gods to rid the world of the brutal Rakshasas. Out on patrol one night he finds and subdues a Rakshasa male and his intended victim: Rayne. Instantly he is as a man possessed by her. Andre moves heaven and earth to secure her forever. If only she were more receptive to the idea. Harken, the brother of the Rakshasa captured by Andre, sets out to find his brother at all costs. Along with his seven best warriors, Harken dares the impossible. He breaks into the Avatar stronghold one night to free his brother but instead is captivated by Rayne who, in turn, is fascinated by him. Rayne doesn't know who to trust or what to believe. Caught between Avatars and Rakshasas, Andre and Harken, Rayne discovers who she is and what she is capable of.

Sitara

Raman Deol

A birthmark and a prophecy hurtle Stern and Sitara, fugitives from the evil Sorcerer, along the path of destiny to free their land and people.

The land of Aatap struggles under the heavy yoke of an oppressive tyrant known simply as the Sorcerer. Seemingly immortal, the Sorcerer has ruthlessly solidified his power over the years and now rules unopposed, until one fateful night, when a prophecy is made that will completely change the face of the kingdom.

Sitara is a young, carefree gypsy girl with a dangerous secret: she was born with magic. Her abilities make her a target in Aatap where magic is very rare and highly sought after. A chance encounter with the Sorcerer’s soldiers forces Sitara to flee for her life when she quite literally bumps into Stern, a young man with incredible magical talents of his own. On the run from the Sorcerer, Stern is as captivated by the outgoing and cheerful Sitara as she is intrigued by him.

Joined by their unique talents, Sitara and Stern set out on a journey to reunite Sitara with her family and, along the way, discover the hidden past of Aatap and their destinies as the saviors of their people. Struggling against fate and their own characters, Sitara and Stern take a journey beyond their comfortable lives into the realms of destiny.

This has a lot going for it. I liked the pacing and the movement. Even during moments of conversation there was a feeling of life. I say that because I've seen books where sections of dialogue seem to grind the action to a halt and create a sort of stagnant feeling. The best thing about this... view book

This is a well written, deep, professional book. I only read the first little bit but I immediately saw that writing, style, and pacing is great. Backed with pleasure! -Raman view book

I really enjoyed this book. I read all 3 chapters you have posted here and really, really want more! The characterization is interesting and you leave little clues, like the terabyte thing, that keep the reader guessing at what will happen next. I will say, though, that toward the middle of... view book

I have no idea what is happening here. I was so confused, so lost! I know some people enjoy a book without formal structure or storyline, but I am not one of those. view book

This is adorable! I love the deceptively simple rhymes that speak of lessons learned and kindness. I only read the first 2 poems, but it was enough for me to figure out that this book would do very well in print. You mention illustrations on your profile? I would have loved to see them, but I thin... view book
