about me

Laura Lueck was born on March 4, 1985 in the small town of Lake Charles, Louisiana. She grew up in the neighboring town of Sulphur, Louisiana. She was surviving victim of Hurricane Rita 2005, where she moved from city to city all around the united states to find herself a new home. She landed in Los Angeles, CA in late 2005. She began to write the book “In Our Own Eyes” when she was penniless, and almost homeless, running around on the wild streets of Los Angeles. After surviving a brutal attack that almost killed her, she finished her book. She has done research to for all murder scenes in order to correctly make an example of what really happens when a murder does take place. She has always been fascinated with the lives of Serial Killers as they have only been portrayed as bad or invalid people, when in real life, these people did have emotions, families, and love in their lives. Laura Lueck is happily married to Jenn Shagrin, who is also a successful published non-fiction author of “Veganize it” Laura Lueck maintains an active blog www.inourowneyes.blogspot.com where she vents her daily frustrations through short stories. She may also be found on Facebook by the email address of Laura.Lueck@gmail.com.

That being said, I feel obligated to tell you about me presently. The sad truth of the matter is I have not the time to read through everyone's book, However I support and love this site and it's members! I believe it is a great community and even the thought of a another author out there reading my materials gives me butterflies! My current situation is this - as badly as I would love to concentrate on getting published and bi proxy helping those who deserve to be published as well, I am in no place to comb through the millions of books on this site. I am an avid reader, don't get me wrong, but I'm working on a project that is very intense and time consuming to help raise funds for the Gay and Lesbian Center of Los Angeles. If I do not comment back, or something of that nature, then chances are I'm simply swamped and hope that it would not be taken personally.

The Power of Taking

Laura Lueck

A young prostitute in Russia has the power to take emotions and knowledge from people by a simple touch.

The Power of Taking, is a story set in modern times that portrays the life of a woman who has an extraordinary ability. She will show the world what it like when you must always literally “keep your hands to yourself”. Yvonne is a mid twenties woman born in the brothels in a small town in Russia, with the amazing ability to take the knowledge and emotions from anyone she touches. Her internal conflict is she has no emotions of her own. She uses her powers to escape a life of prostitution, and moved to Los Angeles. She struggles with identifying self, from others. She can remember everything, even her birth, and her life begins to spiral downward when she loses her only love Ron, and gains a friend for the first time in her life. She goes on an extraordinary adventure with her friend Zoey to find her true love. Then when using her power recklessly she touches a serial killer and begins to fall into his past. She loses the capability to store the knowledge and instead gets trapped in his fantasy world. This is a story of love, friendship, and finding one’s self.

In Our Own Eyes

Laura Lueck

This is a vicious depiction of what life would be like the eyes of a serial killer.

The victims are in place where the world around them is so foreign that after adjusting their senses to adapt, still the rush of fear takes over. These poor victims are the murders of my book. In Our Own Eyes, is a strong taste of what it is like to be Klaudia, a lesbian serial killer on a trifling emotional battle to fulfillment of self. She will take people into a place which should spell horror, but portrays truth and love instead. She must show you just how human she is by doing the most inhuman things. She does these things for all serial killers, who did not have the chance to prove that they did have a meaning in life. It is often, the media who defines people as objects after their own judgment. In Our Own Eyes, Klaudia has readers flipping through each page, reading each letter of each word, just to find themselves, as they relate to most obscene, gruesome, and shocking characters. This is not a story of simple fear, but the fear you get when you find yourself loving those who commit acts of a disturbing manner. This is her story, in her own eyes.
