about me

Looking to make editing improvements and so comments on Chapters 11 and then 19 onwards would be very appreciated.

About me? LizX...British born, but living in the sun-drenched Canary Islands for more than two decades.

Writing on and off as a hobby developed in 2010 into some occasional freelance work on the internet - mostly in the travel sector even though she never goes anywhere!

Freelancing for www.grancanaria.co.uk was a fun job and encouraged her to express a different viewpoint on the place where she lives.

Twenty four articles on suite101 about the sunshine isle have earned her a literary pittance.

After cutting her reviewing teeth on writing.com, she tries to be a fair and honest judge of others work, but isn't shy of telling the truth in a helpful and positive manner to encourage improvement.

She strives to reach perfection in the literary world and her hardest criticisms by far are applied to her own work. 2010 also saw the completion of her first novel, Echoes of the Past, The Dove, The Dragon and The Flame and with it the ambition to achieve publication.

My favourite compliment to-date on my work came from Desperate Dan who said...

Have to say you have a 'Marion Zimmer Bradley' thing going on with the chapters that are set in the past - good stuff.

Thanks Dan!!

A man will do anything to get what he wants. He's no conscience - even when it's a woman who stands in his way.

“Somewhere there is water seeping through the stones and gathering in a pool. The resounding echo of its drip marks the passing of time. It is the only sound to break the silence since he left and barred the door.”

At forty, Brigitte Anders still believes in fairytales and daydreams of happy endings. She leads a quiet life, in the flatlands of the East Anglian fens, in a village which is built around the grounds of an old monastery. It's a place where the ghosts refuse to lay to rest.

Strange and inexplicable things begin to happen to Brigitte and she undertakes past life regression hoping it will help to unravel the mysteries which surround her. But life just gets more confusing and it isn't until she meets Jack Jamieson, an Irish medium visiting the area for an Holistic fair, she realises she's being visited by phantoms from the past.

Jack looks all set to be Brigitte's hero. With him she begins to discover a world she never knew existed. But nobody is perfect and least of all Jack. His obsession with a fifth century historical figure leads Brigitte to discover life with Jack is no fairytale.

What captured my heart about this new piece of yours, Dean? The end of the first paragraph when you fingered "bloody freezing" and "clean me" in the dust on the lampshade. That's bedsits! Yes, you still need to do some serious work on this, but what catches me most is the reality angle. Loved it ... view book

Hi Mindy, Stopping by for the return read. The short sections in the different pov's started to get me confused because they were all in first person and without the referencing title I would have found it difficult to distinguish one character from the other. First person, for me at least, w... view book

Loved this! It's gritty and down to earth. The dialogue is a treat. Yes, it needs editing. The punctuation in the opening sentences needs sorting out, but it's none the worse for that. On my shelf. view book

Briliant. Perfect pacing for a thriller. Lots of intrigue and a very different story-line. Good read and beautifully editied. Nice job. Highly starred and on my shelf for a bit. view book
