about me

Forgive the vanity - I am 18 in the photo (now 52!).

I am married (25yrs) and have a daughter (21yrs) and a black lab who makes me laugh every day. I have a degree in biology and have worked in several spheres including shop management, graphic design (pre-computer), child minding, secretarial and person centred counselling.

I love books and enjoy writing stories for children.

favourite books

Fungus the bogeyman, Ethel and Ernest - Raymond Briggs fan obviously. Anything Roald Dahl, Wilbur Smith's Courtney trilogy (Men of Men etc) but not his later stuff, Pride & Prejudice (a beautifully woven story - prefer to read it), Very happy to read anything that grabs my imagination.

my books

Walter's Wonderful Wings

Penny Pedlar

Walter is an impatient fledgling who can’t wait for his wing feathers to grow.

An ideal picture book story for young children (up to 4yrs). This is a gentle story of determination as a baby bird learns to fly.

Hello Debbie, I was breathless with Grace on the bike and I felt Dillon's frustration at the shortened x box game. Well written and nicely paced. The idea that individuals should have to create their own electricity is brilliant lesson to all of us. High stars and definitely on my Watch List. view book

Hello Sue - Clever you! I like the 'attitude' and the irreverent way you take the reader through a well established fairy story. It's cheeky and it appeals to me. Well done! view book

I can see children loving this. As a parent I squirmed several times at the suggested imagery - well done! Best of luck Penny view book
