about me

Hi, I'm Luk, and I posted my first novel here but have taken it down again for now. Cheers for all the useful comments. I've worked on websites, and telephone stuff. Also spent a few months working in a photographic studio and studying photography. An Authonomist told me "I expect some of your friends recognise themselves in your work; if not, great characterisation" ;) I thought this was a fun comment. Sure I nick a detail here and there, draw on people I've met, but I still make stuff up, and the end result is definitely fiction.

I must admit the photo for the cover drew me in, more than the subtitle. But I can see the logic of using it... I liked the fact once I started reading that there was plenty of period detail here. This seems to capture the spirit of the times really well. Somewhere there a mention of a sepia-toned p... view book

Really like the Breakfast in Paris scene. That opening paragraph is great but I stayed with it all the way through. Like Emily, Mr Commings and the 1930s man too. Luk view book

Read the second story - Coptic Bride - as the characters grabbed me straight away. Love the language used here - like 'Today was a day to nail' and the sailing descriptions - clipped and forceful, direct. Though at the start and maybe this is the book picture, I was thinking the narrator is female... view book

Love the multi-linguistic start and the sheer bravery in going for this subject matter. also impressed you figured out a way to show the cyrillic script. As for the comment preceding this one - in a well-written book, tense is immaterial - proof of this is that books are published in a variety of t... view book

The Knights of the Round Table, and mice... Familiar ingredients are creatively repurposed there to make an original and fascinating children's tale. Adults may enjoy reading aloud. It's not hard to picture this book as having potential either as a comic or animated film.... Luk (Pixelated) view book
