I'm a 50-something aspiring author of fiction and poetry from the north east of england. My writing has always been my main hobby, but I have only recently began to consider getting my work into print. I am a patron of a poetry website, 'gotpoetry.com' where some of my poetry has been displayed over the last year and I donate material to an independent zine called 'skookum boom', but I have had nothing else published and certainly not commercially. I also sometimes write rhymes and lyrics for punk bands and activist groups, respectively. I am the father of two children and until recently I was a youth and community worker, but have recently left work to become a 'househusband' while my partner studies for her degree, care for my mother and pursue my writing as a career in some form, but I'm not certain how at the moment!! Any tips, encouragement and/or critque of my work would be helpful in achieving my goal

The Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony, The Bio of a Space Tyrant series by Piers Anthony, the first two Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer (didn't care so much for the last two), The Host by Stephenie Meyer, The Dark-Hunters series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, The Enders series by Orson Scott Card, and it's not a book, but I love Highlights High Five magazine (my daughter is 1 and completely addicted).
