about me

Hi all,

I'm an aerospace interior designer living out in beautiful southern california. In my spare time I write, build, and draw (no surfing yet though :( ). Anyhow I have removed Apostles of Sera from this site as it's getting some attention from the publishing industry and I probably shouldn't leave the whole thing up anymore. I appreciate all the feedback that it has gotten over the years. I am sure all those comments helped it become a better and more marketable work. As promised, in its place I have uploaded the first few chapters of The Blue Sky Chronicles. Be sure to leave some feedback for me and enjoy!

The Blue Sky Chronicles: Rise ....

John Payne

A psychic warrior must choose whether to stand with the chaotic freedom of the surface world or return to the slavery of the sky.

A lone warrior falls from the sky onto a post-apocalyptic world where chaos rules. Unable to return, he joins Gunwayne, the captain of a mysterious airship known as The Drake. In exchange for his services, he is offered the opportunity to return to his former home among the clouds. But throughout his adventures with the crew, the psychic soldier begins to wonder if his fall from grace was actually a blessing in disguise. Are the shackles of the Sky really worth his freedom? And did he really belong there to begin with? This is the first book of The Blue Sky Chronicles sci-fi action series.

I can honestly identify pretty well with Terry's plight (more than I would care to go into any further detail about in fact :) ). Its tough trying to come up with that killer pick-up line and so frustrating when the woman of your dreams is right there in front of you but nothing comes to mind. But... view book

Cool concept, the battle of angles both fallen and otherwise. I find Ursula particularly interesting but Elizabeth is good as well though perhaps moody. Interaction between our world and the next is going to make this story interesting. I enjoy your use of descriptive language in the first part b... view book

I feel like I'm in a dream as I read. Is Ana awake or is she still trapped in a distant world? The symbolism of burning her most treasured possessions indicates a new stage in her life and the promise of a new adventure is clearly forthcoming. It also indicates a need to cut the past loose and li... view book

This is an exciting and brilliant creation Sly. Stonefish and his cronies are truly predators, I can feel their collective adrenaline, caution, and wilder side. But they seem to be somewhat noble as well, particularly with regards to their prey. Your use of perspective is interesting, switching f... view book

Awesome! Like how it starts with Maia and then turns the tables by taking on the antagonist Tama's views. Its cool how you examine both sides of the story, with a little history about both characters. Didn't know NZ had a gang culture goin' on! Your action descriptions are excellent, I feel like... view book
