about me

I'm a southern girl who enjoys writing. I'm influenced by my life and a vibrant imagination. What I don't know and can't imagine are only a book away. I enjoy reading almost as much as writing. I like others' writings; for the experience and also for the ideas they provoke. They make me think: "That was nice but how would I have done it?" I like to be challenged. How can I continue to grow without it? And critiques are wonderful challenges.

I do not do automatic read/swaps. You can ask me to look over your book. If I glance and like the pitch, I will read and comment. If I don't, it's nothing on your book. It just might not be my cup of tea.

I've taken both of my books off right now. One, I am reworking them and two, I just don't have the time to spend here that I should. When they are in better form I will reload them. I'm leaving my profile because I will be back from time to time to support and shelf others' work. Good luck to all.

From what I read, very quick read. I can very easily see this as a wonderful book for young adults. I liked the straight drop into action and the boy's reactions felt real. Well done. Backed. Good luck. Jenny view book

I quickly found myself enthralled by the tone of your story teller. Wonderful voice. While some have commented on your format, I found no difficulty at moving through the piece. It seems to fit the tone of a narrator, which seems to be how your story is set up. I also enjoyed the flow of language. I... view book

I believe you have a strong story here. I was very intrigued by your pitch. The only suggestion I would have is to tighten up your work. You tend to overwrite. It's something I understand. I struggle with this too. And as much as I like your pitch, I would say that it also could stand some tightenin... view book

You very quickly evoke an emotional pull for the reader by the plight of your heroine. Lovely writing that fits the style of the period. Was quickly hooked. Ready to come back for more. Definitely backed. Good luck. Jenny view book

I found the premise original and it held my attention. I'm not a child but I can see how this would be a wonderful addition to that genre. My only suggestion might be: tighten up the work some. Read it out loud. Anything that can be cut should. This will make the work fresh and keep it going. You kn... view book
