1955 is not a rotting corpus of drivel, a formulaic codex of uninspired literary vomit.
1955 is a novella, and I would classify it as philosophy. My intention was to discuss philosophy in the vein of the novels of Camus and Sartre, such as The Stranger and Nausea. 1955 does contain elements of romance, revolution and rejection. My intended audience are people who are not easily nailed down. People who think, but are not part of the mainstream of society. People who can see the world around them but aren't sure how to live in it. I say it is a work of fiction, but only in a loose sense. It is a commentary on society and people, a dialogue on the mind. It is an epitaph written in the memory.
The book is distinct from the vast majority of works available in that it is not designed to sell vast amounts of copies which will then be thrown away. It is not a rotting corpus of drivel, a formulaic codex of uninspired literary vomit. It is designed so that after reading it can be reflected upon. It can be examined further and read again, delving deeper into the devices, ideas and movements it contains. It is short but powerful.
