about me

Writing (and reading) are special. They allow me to get inside the heads of the characters - no matter how dark. If all I wanted to do was see action I would go to the movies. I want to know what the characters are thinking and feeling. I want to see through their eyes and feel their heart beating inside me.

I try to write whole stories. Beginning, middle and ending with characters who develop and change in response to what is happening to them. I want a story to be like a satisfying three course meal. Not an instantly forgettable fast food snack. I want to be able to think back, days, weeks, months after and remember, analyse and understand why I enjoyed it.

My first novel just uploaded with yet another amazing cover by the wonderful Bradley Wind.

Never My Thirst

Alessia Verdi

Is pure evil sufficient to explain murder? Or does there always have to be something more?

George Luker murdered seven women. He bled them to death then drank their blood. Ten years ago he was committed for life to a psychiatric prison. He has never spoken.

Rachel Westlake, slowly recovering from a catastrophic nervous breakdown, is hiding away in her old home town writing simple pieces for the local paper. Until she agrees to write an article about the Broxham Bloodsucker.

Luker reads it. He asks to meet the writer. Suddenly he is ready to talk.

He tells her he is not an evil man. He tells her he is cursed, a vampire doomed to an endless life without love but an uncontrollable lust for blood. She does not believe him.

The mind reading is just a trick. The erotic dreams mean nothing. Luker is gorgeous but he is a crazy serial killer. The evidence is clear -- or is it?

Rachel is determined to find the truth. She just may not be strong enough to handle it.

As I know Barry I got to read his horribly spelt scratchings long before he found either the nerve of the energy to up-load them onto Authonomy. I laughed until I cried. But, then again, I have always found toilet humour hilarious. He promises me the next two chapters are nearly ready so keep watchi... view book

Briliant. Loving it. Will read more but wanted to comment now. You had me laughing aloud on a grey Sunday morning. How good can that be?!? Backed with a smile on my face. view book

Thank you. Good points all and action in hand to adjust. The whole point of the story is doubt. She wavers this way and that until the second last page. Is he or isn't he. I wasn't actually sure myself until close to the end. But thanks again for your help. view book

Raymond - many thanks for the comment and the backing. However, the backing tick has not come through. Please let me know if this is a computer glitch. I am told they do happen. view book
