about me

I have pulled 'Selkie Dreams' because I've been offered a publishing contract with Knox Robinson Publishers. I want to thank all of you who have supported me in the months the novel has been on here and made it a better novel.

I also have a biogrpahy being published this year! 'Anahareo: A Wilderness Spirit' will be published in June by Fireship Press and will be available on Amazon and Book Depository.

Born in Philadelphia I currently live in Ireland in the Gaeltacht. I write history freelance, paint and teach watercolors and oils, play harp and sing in an Irish choir.
In my past life I've been an administrator of an historical society, edited a history newsletter and wrote for historical reference works. I've also spent time as a children's librarian. I still keep my hand in the library scene and run a teen book club and an adult book club.

You can order the book from Amazon or www.bookdepository.com now!

The opening is wonderful. It engages the reader right away and we know there is humour and wit to come. Reads like a TC Boyle with its comic but authentic dialogue that creates a real sense of the time and place. Great read. Kristin view book

Read up to chapter 5 now and it's too utterly readable not to come back. Otto is Walter Matheau and Jerry Stiller rolled into one. Great characterization and very believable. Not too over the top-- it's a careful balance and I think you've achieved it well. Nothing like a grumpy old Jewish man t... view book

Very different and unusual premise to tackle issues that are so relevant though we try to ignore them. Issues that are growing bigger. Care of the elderly in a moral, responsible way and a position that the majority of us will be in but seem to ignore when making these decisions for elderly relat... view book

This is a beautifully crafted book with some very unique aspects that set it apart from any general novel. It deals with difficult themes like race relations in Africa at a time when British colonial aspirations were being shredded and a whole new dyanmic was emerging. It's an important time and o... view book

Just the other day at my book club when we were discussing Peter Cunningham's book, Sea and Silence, there was quite a bit of old tale telling of events around West Cork that reflect what your novel is about. Some though, who were from further north, debated whether it was being confused with the t... view book
