about me

I've always loved writing fiction since I was old enough to pen the stories I had in my head. At the moment I'm concentrating on writing a children's series for roughly age 7-9 (key stage 2), based on turning a potentially dull educational topic - the weather - into something fun and memorable.

I write a monthly wine column for Flavour lifestyle magazine based in the South West and work in marketing in the licensed drinks trade. I'm lucky enough to absolutely love what I do. I also sing with a choir with a great and really diverse repertoire - gospel, swing, musicals, you name it - and we perform at various concert halls a couple of times a year.

I've received a lot of feedback on my book on this site which I'm very grateful for - it's easy to lose the the objective viewpoint of a reader when you're too close to a text. I'm regularly editing the book to try and get the pitch just right for the audience I'm aiming for. I've also had some comments about the front cover being a little too young for the audience - I'll leave it as it is for now as it has some stand out, but is definitely something I'll be amending for the future.

My favourite Authonomy books aren't all on my bookshelf at the moment as I'm honouring promises to some other excellent books - but they will be back!

Hi Janeta, I was so moved by your book. The pain you have experienced comes through so much, and I hope what you have written will help other people either to deal with their own lives or make choices to prevent such dreadful foetal effects occurring. I wish you all the best (for your book, and f... view book

Hi Leila, have read the first half of the book and really enjoyed so far. A great idea, turning the old idea of a human turning to a wolf after being bitten, on its head. I love your descriptions from the wolf's perspective - concerned with basic thoughts of survival only, ashamed of her body and to... view book

I'm enjoying your story and would like to read more. I agree with the comment about the introduction - you do set the scene nicely. Karen and her grandfather are becoming good, well-rounded characters. I am intrigued by your subject matter and look forward to learning more about the time weavers... view book

Wow - what a powerful opening chapter. I couldn't not read on after that! Love your storyline, characters, climax with 'The Burning Clock' itself and then a lighthearted, relaxed ending - which I think is really good for a children's book so they can really understand that the world have returne... view book

Lots of fun, engaging, informal narrative, great introduction with discussion of 'Garcia' etc. Easy to jump straight into the story but this is a nice, lighthearted intro which makes the reader smile and want to read more. Even the hint at romance from the first chapter is unusually not slushy, ... view book
