about me

Hello everyone. If you haven't guessed by now I have a passion for words and have five books published...all thanks to www.lulu.com, much hard work and sleepless nights.

My eldest is married to a man who doesn't mind his mother -in-law though my youngest is still fluffing his feathers trying to find is way in the world.

My middle child is off on a mysterious adventure, the like of which I can only guess...and tried to do so in my first book, 'Gone'.

I love to read and am looking for ways to double time so to indulge in the mysterious and wonderful and delicious and strange...my favourite kind of story.

Writing takes up most of my days (and nights) though I enjoy creating handcrafted cards and dabbling in encaustic art whenever I can.

Oh yes, I also teach or mark exam papers or 'push around papers' when I can find the work and hate all those necessary domestic chores that would, for me, be included in the Rings of Hell!

That's it. Thank you to anyone who reads my books...enjoy the flight!

The Star Realm

Julie Elizabeth Powell

What would you do if you were called to another world...a world filled with seemingly impossible things? Follow the quest within the Orb.

What would you do if you were called to another world...a world filled with seemingly impossible things? Faced with this choice, Davie, Ben, Anne, Chrissie and Billy embark upon a mysterious quest, finding themselves transported to the spectacular and extraordinary world of Avalon, whereupon they are catapulted into one of the uncountable heptagonal pieces that make up the magical sphere of the Orb of Caprice...namely, the Star Realm. Follow the exploits of the five and champion their long, arduous yet amazing journey. Though the question remains...will Time be on their side? This story is for anyone with a head overflowing with dreams, a heart filled with a yearning for adventure and a soul buoyant in magic. This is the first adventure in the Avalon trilogy.

Gone

Julie Elizabeth Powell

A two year old girl's heart stops. She dies though brought back...memories wiped, character vanished. Gone where?

A two year old girl's heart stops and she dies but is brought back too late, memories wiped, character vanished. One question haunts her mother's anguished mind: Where has her daughter gone? This story is one answer to that question. Gone is a fantasy which tackles the themes of loss and grief but it is also about following an identity, which has been stripped from its owner. It's about life and what makes us who we are and how the bonds of love can never be broken. And it is about hope. It is not quite like any other story, as it is not about death in the true sense though shifts from supposed reality to other plains of existence. It also takes surprising and humorous twists and turns, dealing with 'loss' in a unique way. Gone has been described as '...unique, a journey of wonder, perfect, beautiful, magnificent, captivating, moving and sprinkled with fantastic humour' and '...for those of us with our own demons to vanquish...' but if nothing else, it will most definitely make you think differently. Inspired by truth.

Thanks very much, Mazza, I'm glad you liked it. And yes, constructive criticism is always good. Unfortunately, I cannot change anything as it is published with an ISBN and would cost a fortune to put right! I have to say that I'm happy with the way it is though I take your comments on board and m... view book
