about me

As a writer I seek to do several things:

1) To publish novels for adolescents and adults

2) To tear down the boundary between literature and popular fiction

3) To bring stories featuring people of color (and their unique issues) into the mainstream, to have them be recognized for their own merits instead of being stuffed into niche categories

4) To break free of the confines of print to explore other mediums, such as theater, film, and video games.

My current project is called Poguri and the Land of Nou, the first in an intended dark fantasy trilogy exploring a variety of themes such as the nature of reality, Gnosticism, and Jungian psychology.

Much as Camus's The Stranger delivered existential themes using simple language, I hope to encourage young people to explore complex ideas within the more inviting context of popular fiction.

I'd also like to make a living!

Writing fiction is what I've always wanted to do, and I hope to do it well.

Reading/Backing Policy
---------------------------------

It hasn't taken me long to realize that people will "back" or "watch" or comment on your book without really reading it, just to get you to do the same for them.

Not me.

If I am going to read a story, then I do it with the intention of leaving at least somewhat substantial feedback. If for some reason I can't even get through the first chapter, then I'll tell you why I couldn't.

If I don't read your book at all, then it may be because the genre is not my thing (like self-help), and it is not a personal slight, or a lack of appreciation for your support of my work.

Because I intend to be thorough, it means that I will not be pumping out the comments and backings like clockwork, so if you've backed me or commented on PATLON, don't be offended if I don't return the courtesy immediately.

I will operate under the assumption that you actually read my work, and so I will take the time to do the same for you. So please be patient!

Thanks, and I look forward to reading and sharing with all of you.

I love the concept of "Fire magician"; reminds me of Roy Mustang from Full Metal Alchemist or better, the "Flame Champion" of Suikoden lore. I also think your descriptions are wonderful, although there may be too much of it for my taste. There's a sort of disconnect for me between the first pe... view book

Oh, crap. In all that praise I forgot my one bit of constructive crit. POV. It's kind of become my obsession! For the most part, the point of view stays with one character or another in each chapter, but there are times when it slips into another. For example, Chapter 5 is from Kelly's poin... view book

Hey Lynn, I've read through Chapter 5, and I'm definitely enjoying it. I'm looking forward to Naomi being "kicked to death", because she's quite a horrible (although hilarious) person. Your writing style is interesting because mostly it's light prose that flows quickly (which is how I got strai... view book

Hi Tony, I think the writing here is strong, especially the dialogue, which is believable. However, there are a few things that jump out at me right away that potentially derail the story for me. This is hardly an in-depth critique, but I'll try to go over each thing briefly. 1) Your pitch m... view book
