about me

Thank you all for your support with my novel Painfully Ordinary!! It has been picked up by a publisher and will be available December 15, 2010. You can pre-order it now at http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Painfully-Ordinary/Stephanie-Amox/e/9780982918623/?itm=2&USRI=amox.

I spend most of my time with my 2 children, who are extremely involved in competitive cheer and travel hockey. I guess you could say most of my writing is done in various waiting rooms. :)

Painfully Ordinary is my first completed work, but New Beginnings, the second book in this series is nearing completion and a third is already in outline form.

Family Secrets

Stephanie Amox

Evie's going through the motions of life: no degree; jerk boss and no social life. A trip home reveals a family secret of epic proportions.

She discovers a secret world in the woods behind her family home in a small town in East Texas. A world hidden by her mother and Aunt Winnie. She wonders why her mother fears being outside at night and why she craves it. Her aunt attempts to share their family history through cryptic fairy tales. However, when a mighty fairy warrior named Aulis invades her dreams and fills her with erotic desires - she fights to maintain posession of her very soul. Is she truly the new Guardian? Will her relationship with Aulis be her strength or her eventual downfall?

Your story has some tremendous potential. Great start on character development. You can easily differentiate between who is talking by simply moving sentences around. If Elena says "Yes, I don't know what happened. I just flipped! I take it I'm in very big trouble?" ... take the next sentence b... view book

David, I am a Texan, so football has an entirely different meaning for me. However, I am a big sports fan (my son plays select ice hockey...yes, in Texas no less). You have been able to transcend the general subject matter (football) and create a character who is truly human. He has faults, ma... view book

Very engaging, right from the very beginning. I have a 16 year old girl at home, so I hear a voice like Morgan's 24 hours a day - you have it nailed. Well done! I look forward to reading more. Happily backed. Stephanie Painfully Ordinary view book

I don't even know where to start. I can almost hear my grandfather's voice as he would have shared stories from "home". First thing he always did when he arrived in Texas, was grab a pint and a bowl of chili. I laughed out loud so many times I lost count. A delightful read. Happily backed. ... view book
