about me

Yes, I have a book on Authonomy and you can find it here: http://www.bit.ly/Shicaine

You don't see it because it is a co-authored work, which Authonomy can't do. Now that we've gotten that out of the way . . . :)

I am the co-author of the series, "The Chronicles of the Myst-Clipper Shicaine" with Kerry Forrestal, the first several chapters of which are available here on Authonomy.

This series, is the second of our collaborations, the first being a play entitled, "Club Hell."

By day, I am the Associate Director of Career Services at Ithaca College and a part-time lecturer in the Business School. I love working in education and career development in particular, because there is nothing quite like helping someone figure out their passions and then guiding them towards achieving them. I believe it's important to be active in ones profession and so, I currently serve as the President-elect of the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers.

Outside of my writing and my job, I am active in the arts as a songwriter/musician (www.loosechangemusic.com, www.thebudbrothers.com) and most recently as a member of the Wing Space Theatre Company and the Left Wings Improv Troupe. In my "spare" time, I am an experimental film artist and have been very fortunate to have had my works exhibited at the national level.

I am blessed to be married to a talented dancer, dance educator, singer and actress, Dr. Nancy Kane and we, along with our 6 cats, lead a very full and happy life.

The book starts off strong, though the dialogue of the muggers sounds a bit like a 1970s blackploitation film. You may want to tweak that a bit as it makes things sound dated. What really resonated for me were the descriptions and details, which make everything seem real. A lot of potential here!... view book

Richard, I came across your book while reading comments on Dropcloth Angels. I decided to give it a read and two chapters in, I'm enjoying it very much. The characters are compelling and the circumstances, thus far, intriguing. As an American, the British slang adds to the authenticity but is... view book

Scott, This is a very interesting concept. Chapter 1 for me, was fairly disorienting. There is an implied richness to your world but at this point in the story it is really only known to Maanta. While much of his world undoubtedly becomes clearer as the story unfolds, having these fragments in... view book

Tremendously dark in all the right ways. Zane just pops off the page. His inner dialogue is strong, dark, and tinged with humor. This is one of those books, where I really do want to read more and something that I would absolutely purchase. I'm not prone to auto-backing books, but this one is goi... view book
