Mourning the death of his beloved wife, Magnificent John the Prestor wanders the Earth, cultivating the special magics of humanity, as he tries to come to terms with his terrible loss. Accompanied by his daughter, Kimura, he makes his home among human kind seeking the solace of doing good works among his fellow man, all the while searching for a suitable heir --one who will defend his land and learn the secrets of his kingdom.
Timothy is a misguided youth and a failed thug who forms an unlikely friendship with the king and his daughter. Turned away from a life of crime, he contents himself with his new role as the king's only squire, not entirely convinced that the magic of Ind is real. Meanwhile, the forces of darkness amass in the land of Nod, preparing for the Great Blasphemy. Without it’s King, will the Kingdom of Ind fall to ruination?
