about me

Born in Southern Virginia, I grew up all over
the United States, and spend a few years in
Germany as a child. As a result of my travels,
I've developed a far different way of looking
at things and people, and a peculiar sense
of humor along the way.
After leaving high school, I went directly
into the US Navy spending 6 years abroad during
Desert Storm. Because of military cutbacks
and dwindling benefits, I left the service
to make my way in the civilian world, where
I started to develop his desire for storytelling.
I'm divorced with one child, and thoroughly
eager to develop writing into a full time
vocation. Mainly interested in Science fiction,
fantasy and horror, I focus my efforts into
developing fiction in those areas.

Please Note: I welcome offers from anyone for critiques, but my interest is mainly science fiction, horror and fantasy with occasional dabblings into Mystery/Intrigue. I don't mind giving impressions in other areas, I do not give fluff criticisms because quite frankly, I believe it lessens those works I feel are truly exceptional. I try to give constructive feedback whenever I can, but I am not a spell check/grammar check type of person. That's what an honest to goodness Editor is for.

I do not back books just because people ask me to, and I would prefer that you not back mine unless you truly enjoy what you have read. Getting to the editor's desk is an admirable goal, but I want my work to get there on its own merits and not because I spent time fishing for book backings. I do not back books unless I have read them and I tend to ignore messages from people just asking for a backing because I believe it goes against the spirit of things.

UPDATE: RIGHT NOW I'M WORKING ON THE ENDING. As soon as I have finished, I will be happy to return reads to everyone who's asked me to, but I really need to finish the ending first. I am hoping to finish by 5/14, so please bear with me.

Faced with this new life, Mike now has to pick up the pieces while coming to terms with her new identity, all while trying to stay out of the public eye.

Plunging the scientific community and the world at large into a moral dilemma, dodging overzealous news hounds and the cult of Claretology is just the least of her worries. This was not an easy read. Your first paragraph I had to read three or four times just to get what you were trying to convey. It's ambiguous and none of the statements in it work together to build a picture of what's going on. I don't get any sense from it what is going on, other than the narrator s... view book

Please note: This is a raw first draft. I post each chapter as its completed until I've finished. I'm not really looking for spelling/punctuation at this point, but I wouldn't put it up if it wasn't readable. view book

Please everyone keep in mind that this is a work in progress. That means that it's a first draft and the chapters are posted as soon as I finish writing them. I'm aware that there are most likely grammatical mistakes and I will see to them later on. I'm more interested in style, characterization, an... view book

You, know, there isn't really anything that I can add to this book. I think that its very well written, and flows well from one scene to the next. I did read up to chapter 4 before I found myself stopping. That tells me that the story is almost definitely something I would read if I found it on the ... view book

In your prologue, I think you're missing a prime opportunity to develop a truly powerful scene. In literature, or movies or TV the courtroom has that magical ability to spread tension and suspense with a knife. I feel that instead of just writing out the verdicts to begin with, you should actually t... view book
