about me

IF YOU LEAVE ME A MESSAGE, I PROMISE TO RETURN EVERY BACKING ASAP. IF I HAVE BACKED YOUR BOOK WITHOUT COMMENT, PLEASE BE ASSURED I HAVE READ SOME OF IT AND LIKED IT.

I am retired and although I am English, originating from the Wirral, Merseyside, I now live in the Welsh Hills with my partner, three dogs, three cats and five sheep. After a busy working life, I now have the time to devote to writing, which I truly enjoy. I have uploaded Parts I , II and III of Brooklyn Bridge. I will upload Part IV shortly.

N.B. In my full manuscript I have split Chaper one into two chapters. As this would cause too many problems on Authonomy I have left it as one chapter here for the present.

Glad to accept swap reads, but if you approach me I expect you to go first and vice versa. I do not "nit pick" but prefer to look from a reader's point of view and will be pleased to encourage writers and to back books that I enjoy.

Brooklyn Bridge now has its own page on Facebook. Do come and join please.

BROOKLYN BRIDGE

LYNNE McLEAN

Brooklyn Bridge is a story of love and friendship which breaks down the barriers of race and continents.

Her heart missed a beat as she took in Bob’s appearance. He was tall with skin the colour of caramel. Long black lashes fringed smouldering, dark brown eyes. Carolyn thought he was the most beautiful man she had ever seen.

Brooklyn Bridge is a saga of love and friendship, spanning three decades, which will both warm your heart and have you reaching for the tissues. When John Davidson takes his young sister, Carolyn, to America to start a new life and they are saved on Brooklyn Bridge by two American teenagers, Bob and Jeff, they little realise that the meeting will change all their lives forever. The three men become a successful singing group and form a record production company but find that success is not always the key to happiness. The story is set both in the Wirral, Merseyside and New York, USA.

Can Bob and Carolyn’s deep love for each other survive separation, bigotry and tragedy? Will the four of them ever find true happiness?

I really love this. It is a story I want to read and if it was on a bookshelf I would buy it. Being a Brit, I don't know the legend of John Henry, but from what I have read he must have been quite a man. Your scenes in the first chapter at the graveside are so real and emotional, I felt I was sta... view book

A lovely mixture of different types of stories. Very easy to pick up and read and then come back for more. Well done. Backed with pleasure, Lynne, Brooklyn Bridge. view book

This really is a bitter-sweet story. From Sean's self-harming and his growing-up pains at school and with Heather, to the time spent with his grandfather. Your writing flows and is very readable with great descriptions and strong characters, especially Sean. Backed with pleasure earlier. Lynne... view book

This is different from anything I have read on this site. What an imagination you have, with the skill to put it into writing. Well done and Backed. Lynne, Brooklyn Bridge. view book

An unusual twist to the usual vampire tale of which there seem to be more every day. Not my own choice of gentre, but I think this will appeal to vampire story lovers. Lots going on and plenty to keep the reader interested. What fun you must have had writing it as a team. Lots of luck. Ba... view book
