about me

Recovering from a shoulder injury, I may not leave comments, but am still reading and backing books I enjoy.

Thanks to everyone who supported me on my journey to the Desk. You have my eternal gratitude.

I am retired and although I am English, originating from the Wirral, Merseyside, I now live in the Welsh Hills with my partner, three dogs, three cats and five sheep. After a busy working life, I now have the time to devote to writing, which I truly enjoy. I have only uploaded Parts I , II and III of Brooklyn Bridge. Part IV is available if anyone would like to read it.

N.B. In my full manuscript I have split Chaper one into two chapters. As this would cause too many problems on Authonomy I have left it as one chapter here for the present.

Brooklyn Bridge now has its own page on Facebook. Do come and join please.

BROOKLYN BRIDGE

LYNNE McLEAN

Brooklyn Bridge is a story of love and friendship which breaks down the barriers of race and continents.

Her heart missed a beat as she took in Bob’s appearance. He was tall with skin the colour of caramel. Long black lashes fringed smouldering, dark brown eyes. Carolyn thought he was the most beautiful man she had ever seen.

Brooklyn Bridge is a saga of love and friendship, spanning three decades, which will both warm your heart and have you reaching for the tissues. When John Davidson takes his young sister, Carolyn, to America to start a new life and they are saved on Brooklyn Bridge by two American teenagers, Bob and Jeff, they little realise that the meeting will change all their lives forever. The three men become a successful singing group and form a record production company but find that success is not always the key to happiness. The story is set both in the Wirral, Merseyside and New York, USA.

Can Bob and Carolyn’s deep love for each other survive separation, bigotry and tragedy? Will the four of them ever find true happiness?

Hi Connie. I am really keen to read more of this story. It is well written and you have managed to make Violet into a real flesh and blood character from the very start. Excellent and I am pleased to make room on my shelf. Lynne, Brooklyn Bridge. view book

This has a very good start which pulls the reader into the story. Very promising and well written. I'm happy to support you. Lynne, Brooklyn Bridge. view book

Sheila, I love this and could happily sit and read on and on. One little nit-pick in the first paragraph - watch out for repetition. I would change "creature" to rabbit or animal in one instance rather than mention the same word twice. Otherwise, well done. I will be back to read more and am... view book

I think this starts really well, although I do agree you need to cut down on some of the opening content. I am looking forward to reading more as this is an area which is of great interest to me and the story looks set to unfold nicely. You certainly have my backing. Good luck., Lynne, B.B. view book

I like your pitch, and this starts really well so I am very tempted to read more as time allows. You have certainly encouraged me to leave a comment, which these days is rare. I am making space on my bookshelf and wish you luck with this story. Lynne, BB. view book
