Erin Lee

"The Suicide Index" meets "The Story of Us" in this candid memoir of a real life Bridget Jones' marriage to an alcoholic.

99 Bottles of Beer on My Counter: Diary of an Alcoholic’s Wife is a memoir about life with an alcoholic over a 13-year period. It’s a candid coming of age tale mixed with the disappointments, responsibilities and miscalculations of adulthood. This memoir is a mix of reflections, experiences, and journal entries that detail my journey as the wife of an alcoholic. It explores how my husband became an alcoholic and the long term effects that has had on my children and myself. From rock bottom hatred and resentment to hopeful love, this memoir explores all of the emotions a person in love with an alcoholic likely faces.

Thank you very much for your kind words, Andrew. I've learned, through Ala-non and my own personal experience with this that it really is about taking it one day at a time and focusing on the many positve things in my life. In many ways, my life is very blessed and I remind myself of that each day.... view book

Thank you, Diane. I think one of the hardest things in loving an alcoholic is feeling like it's not okay to love them. We ALL question our relationships during difficult times, but in a situation like this, a person can become obsessive about it. When Matt first read the first draft, he felt like ... view book
