about me

I'm back and better than ever! Well, maybe not. I am back to hopefully stay, though the time here will be more limited than before. Need hobbies that make me move, too, ya know!

Missed you guys while I was gone.

Still looking for a publisher/agent.

I have been writing since I was 7. No luck with publishing other than a letter inviting me to submit something else from a publisher who then stopped accepting unsolicited manuscripts. My dream in life is probably the same as every other person's on this site, to be able to make a living as a writer. Not necessarily be famous, mind you, just be able to make a living and know enough people enjoyed my writing that I could spend the majority of my time doing just that.

Saturday night almost invariably finds me, not out with friends or at movies or having what most of my friends would consider fun, but sitting at my computer either making things up or revising things I already made up. Part of it is probably living in North Dakota where it's often too cold to do anything else, but I really would rather be writing.

I don't think I am aggressive or cutthroat enough to make it here (I would NEVER have the guts to actively seek backs/comments to my stuff from someone else, the mere thought gives me shivers), but I do enjoy it. I LOVE comments and suggestions. My stories do tend to have very similar themes (Female characters turning out to be more than they think they are. Freud would have loved me!) but I hope the stories themselves are different enough that it doesn't get too boring. Thanks to everyone who has commented, and anyone who does!

Wolf and the Riddle

Kasie Stadig

Captain Liam Magnus seeks to repay a debt owed to an old friend and finds magic and mischief in the shape of a woman.

Made Part Two a seperate novel and expanded this one in the current version, taking excellent advice from this site! Complete version no longer uploaded. Captain Liam Magnus is a successful English privateer, but, momentarily short of crewmen, he needs help when an old friend contacts him after his daughter is kidnapped. He finds that help from an unexpected source, a girl who has ties to his ship, the Sphinx's Riddle. Rowan Harrington is far more than the simple peasant that she seems, and he finds her mystery intriguing in ways he is not accustomed to. She involves him, his crew, and his reluctant passangers Nick and Bianca in more adventure than even he expects, but what does the moon have to do with it?

Magic's Guardian

Kasie Stadig

Terra is a normal girl, until she decides to take a camping trip. Encountering faeries changes more than her life.

Terra is just finishing college and decides to celebrate with a solitary camping trip. Woken in the middle of the night by music, she assumes the worst, but when she investigates she finds a magical scene--quite literally. Her encounter with the Prince of the Seelie Court of Faerie changes her in ways no one could imagine, not even said honest-to-goodness faerie prince. WIth Maclyn, son of Oberon and Titania, and their best friend Puck (yes, that Puck) along with Healer's daughter Rosebud, Terra is sent on a mission to save the children of her world, and perhaps all of the Seelie Court.

Freshly edited, something I should have done a long time ago, and thought I had. I suppose that's what I get for working on three seperate series at the same time, I forget what I've done where. Took care of some typos, wrong words, and some awkward or unnecessary sentences.

Clever and entertaining. The Three Bears was my favorite, it gave me quite a chuckle. The chapters are well written and after a story or two, I found myself leaning closer to the screen simply in anticipation of whatever twist awaited me around the next page. Pulls no punches, in fact often goes for the one-two knockout. Love the descriptive style. Could use some editing, but not too much because the choppiness, if that's even the right word, adds to the atmosphere of this particular tale. I like some of the unexpected description ("veiled peanuts" is... view book

My finger was hovering over the "back" button when I saw it had already made it to the editor's desk . . . oh, well. Massive undertaking, well done, beautifully written. It isn't something I would chose for myself personally, but I can certainly see it as a series in the Fiction and Literature sec... view book

Though it isn't something I would pick for myself as an almost purely sci-fi/fantasy girl, it's a beautifully crafted piece. Description, dialogue, plot, it's all there and all done very well. Congrats on making it to the editor's desk and good luck. view book
