Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self." -- Cyril Connolly

"A writer never has a vacation. For a writer life consists of either writing or thinking about writing."
- Eugene Ionesco

There's not much to say about me.

We're strangers. Let's leave it that way.

"Through joy and through sorrow, I wrote. Through hunger and through thirst, I wrote. Through good report and through ill report, I wrote. Through sunshine and through moonshine, I wrote. What I wrote it is unnecessary to say."
Edgar A. Poe

First, to Dream of Love

Cara Ruegg

When an ancient legend told as a fairytale begins to come true what is there left for you to do but read and believe?

In the ancient land of Secretum, it is said God shall let rise a beautiful princess. Her hair shall be drawn like sparkling gold, lovely in all its radiance; and her eyes shall be made in accordance to the ocean; her lips shall be painted the color of red berries and her heart divided into two so she will not feel whole until she has found the man God wills for her to share her love with.

*** Rough draft complete at 73,608 words. Not fully uploaded and chapters are uploaded at random. ***

-------
“It’s the end, Princess; the end.”
“It’s not the end.” I somehow managed to speak, “It won’t be the end until I’m dead.”

Nameless Poetry

Cara Ruegg

I could hold you tight against my heart but you’d never be near enough, my dear

This is just a pile of random poetry I have written. Some of it rhymes some of it doesn't but it is all natural, straight from the heart. I follow no formula. I know not how. Like John Keats did say, "It ought to come like leaves to a tree, or it better not come at all."

The Deadliest Weapon

Cara Ruegg

Between life and death two worlds collide, two hearts set to match. In a world of chaos, destruction, death there's one weapon nobody would suspect...love.

The A&D (Abnormal and Dangerous) Institution has been witness of many deaths, all of which have not been human but when Avah Montgomery is locked away the question arises: What is she? In a world of chaos and death it is hard to determine who does and who doesn't impose a threat. Andrew Carnely, convinced she is just a girl, takes her into his care and protects her but there is a secret even she doesn't know...a secret that could save the world or destroy it. She is the deadliest weapon. Watch the trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaBkleLpJwA <-- made by the awesome Rosiee :) *****The chapters are scattered because I don't want to give the major idea away. ****

The Trees Have Eyes

Cara Ruegg

When somebody goes missing people wonder.
When somebody goes dead people flock.
Will this killer be caught
or will Lillian write it off a fairytale?

Young and beautiful women are said to be deadly but what about the man that lusts after them or the woman that envies them? All steps start small as all sins start small....then they turn massive! Can this wretched monster cover up his steps before he is found or will an unlikely girl beat him at his own game?

I really don't have any good advice although I did notice a typo in the first poem you said "in vein" I'm wondering if you meant "in vain" ? Your style is very quirky and fun and you seem to tell a fun story for each one. I quite enjoyed it. Backed. view book

I really quite enjoyed this and you convey some beautiful imagery. I do have some suggestions though. I honestly felt like some of these sentences were slightly too descriptive and kind of bogged me down and were hard to get through. In particular the very first sentence: "The deepening..." this see... view book

So consider yourself talented. I am an incredibly picky reader and rarely ever read because of this but I found myself very interested in your story and you write very well. Your voice is very distinct. Backed. view book

Silent Storm is one heart-wrenching book. I loved the description of John and of the doctor. The details like him pulling on his collar and how John looked like a dried peach and all the pain -- very deep and profound. backed. view book
