about me

I'm from a small town on the West coast of Scotland, trying to write in between the bouts of wind and rain.

"Storm Clouds" is the 1st book in a trilogy, and I'm scheduled to begin writing the sequel late October 2010. The manuscript of "Storm Clouds" is complete and the first 3 chapters are available to read here.

I am also developing a horror/thriller/sci-fi series called "Jimmy and the Black Wind", some stories set in that world can be found on my website.

I hope you enjoy reading what I've posted here of "Storm Clouds" and leave comments on the story.

LATEST NEWS: CHAPTER 1 HAS BEEN UPDATED TO REFLECT COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS. THANK YOU - HOPE IT'S BETTER!

Storm Clouds - The Long Road (....

Neil Colquhoun

A small town, rocked by closures, will soon be dealt another blow.
Mysterious forces threaten to tear the town apart ...

Grand Rocks was once a town with a thriving mining industry, a thriving community and had a regular stream of tourists.

But several factors changed the town for ever: the mines closing suddenly after a mysterious incident, the building of a highway which took most of the through traffic from town and the discovery by scientists of something strange in the mountains.

Now, the town will once more bear witness to weird happenings with the appearance of a man in a cowboy hat, a talking bird and the return of one who was forced to leave the town after the mines closed.

The forces are gathering and will soon embark in an age-old fight of good versus evil. Through the centuries, countless wars have been fought between the forces of darkness and goodness, with the exception that this time...

... there is a new third force to stir things up. A new alien force...

Hi This book is funny. And I did enjoy it. Although I'm not keen on the title, the characters are well-written and the story has promise. Satire is hard to write and you could be doing alright with this. I read 3 chapters but I will leave another comment when I've read more. Best wishes Neil... view book

Hi Elizabeth This is not something I would normally read but I found myself drawn into the story through the main character's voice. I must admit I find these stories difficult but I have stuck with it through the first three chapters - and I will come back to read more. When I have read a few m... view book
