about me

I'm a graduate student getting my Masters in International Relations, I'm an intern for the federal government, but I have always written. Mostly it's fluff or crap or fluffy crap - I am not a serious writer by any means. I want to entertain and give my reader a good time with twists and turns and stuff like that, not make you contemplate the meaning of life or things like that. If you want a good time, that's what my stuff is good for. It's not Pulitzer material, but I like to think that it has to be better than Twilight.

I might only be 24, but so far I have written four novels. Two will never see the light of day and one is currently being beta read off this site, but you can test drive my latest work if you so choose. In my opinion, anyone can get a kick out of it, but it is directed at women ages 17-35 who enjoy the early works of Laurell K. Hamilton. It's paranormal, it's suspense, it's action, and maybe in the future a bit of a love story wink wink, so there is something to keep all readers excited.

Right now I don't have time to REALLY read the work of others since I am a full time student in addition to my internship, but hopefully soon I will be able to comment and critique for others. Until then, maybe you would like to read my stuff and help me out, or just read and hopefully get a kick out of what I have written.

Give me hope that I can be saved from my future as a bureaucrat!

APRIL 10 - Light is COMPLETE. It's now being edited! Thanks for all your feedback but I could always use more!

LIGHT: Book One of the Three R....

Megan Ayscue

Humanity is trapped between a war of light and dark, leaving Rebecca Townsend -mentally unstable, panicking, and quite possibly insane -the key to humanity's survival.

For Rebecca Townsend, normal has been a goal worth striving for. After years of psychiatric appointments and meetings with therapists, she's been labeled by those around her as ill. When her mother is murdered and her father disappears, she's ordered by the court to live with her abusive aunt and uncle, considered by the court to be mentally unstable.

For twenty two years she has been a freak of nature, her dreams becoming more and more prophetic the older she gets. When a strange man named Zithain enters her life, though, she begins to unravel the pieces of the mystery surrounding her life. Rebecca has never been a normal young woman, her life disguised in lies and half truths to keep her safe from reality.

A war is approaching that will consume all Rebecca has ever known, and she is the key to success for the sides involved. Having spent her life being a willing damsel in distress, she'll have to learn how to protect herself before she can protect humanity from the forces of light and darkness as they try to control our universe for their own devices.

Hello Cheryl! I have to admit, the moment I found your book I was intrigued. One of my earlier novels (not posted here since it's not any good) had a similar plot to yours except more action-adventure-y. I read about three chapters, which is the most I can read given my time constraints, but I ha... view book

Hi Katie! I read over the first two chapters and found myself interested by the plot, but with several issues. You have a good premise on your hands, but I felt that it wasn't drawing me in the way I had hoped, and you also bogged it down with description that wasn't needed and clunky word usage. ... view book

Thanks for the comments! I am actually still finalizing the last few chapters (ie actually writing them) so editing will be coming hopefully next month. What you is right now is pretty much unedited since right now I want more comments and critique on the plot and the overall idea than I do ba... view book

Read a few chapters and I definitely agree that despite the young characters, this is more aimed at adults, especially with the descriptive words used. I personally like it but I can imagine that if it were directed at a younger audience that a lot of what you've beautifully written would go over t... view book

Someone else said that it was funny but maybe not for a full book. After three chapters, I found it funny, but it was also the type of funny that I can only handle in small doses before it grates on my nerves. Other than that, you definitely have a niche market in this and I can see guys being add... view book
