I thought Mulan was just a nice story. I never believed in destiny or magic swords until Raven came and took my brother away.

Twelve year old Becca is having vivid dreams that feel more like memories. After her parents go missing, Becca does her best to take care of her six year old brother, Timmy, while they stay with her busy Aunt Sarah, but Timmy is kidnapped to the Shadow Realm while Aunt Sarah is on a business trip. Joey looks to be about thirteen. He has fiery red hair and a temper to match but no memory of who he is or where he came from. Fourteen year old Mike has a legendary swordsman for a grandfather and a past that he doesn't want to talk about. As the meaning of Becca's dreams becomes clear, the three of them must join together to help Becca master the first Sword Spirit and rescue Timmy from the Shadow Realm. If they can just keep from killing each other first

BH Critique The same thing that makes this story interesting, makes it difficult to read. It is also difficult to use the BH Critique format but I will do my best. Plot – An intriguing and engaging plot told in a unique format. Pacing - It was not until the third chapter that I understoo... view book

Stampman's Review Wonderful beginning. I can tell that you did research and put some serious thought into the "What if?" question. It is easy to make mistakes with historical fiction, even moreso with biblical fiction but you took a familiar story and made it totally your own. Well done! Your v... view book

Thank you for your helpful comments and backing. I love the characterization in your first chapter. In a few paragraphs, you take us from a picture of an innocent youth, with a little bit of the devil in her, to man who seems innocent but is the devil. The secrets we keep will haunt us for a ... view book

There a lot of places that I would use commas, but I am not an expert so I will let others tell you the exact places they belong. I don’t think it is that important except where the misuse or lack of commas co... view book

Prologue and Chapter 1 The beginning is fast past-paced and violent. Although it is attention grabbing, the first chapter doesn't make clear whether the prologue was a flash back or flash forward and that is a little distracting. The sentence that begins "As a boy" in the first paragraph appear... view book
