about me

Who am I? - I'm a husband of one and a father of four. I'm a writer unpublished, and a dreamer undaunted. I'm a seeker of truth who hopes for the best. I'm a contradiction made whole by a God without division. Oh and I'm on Facebook, so if you want to look me up and make friends, please do.

Concerning my writing: I've always had an active imagination, and I've been putting pen to paper as a hobby ever since high school. And yes, I would love to be published.

My first book is finally complete at only 285,000 words! It was like when you cook, and you keep adding tasty things until, in the end, you need a bigger pot! Anyway, taking in account the excessive size of my novel, I have decided to post it here in three volumes.

I'm currently writing another story set in the same world as this first book, and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

favourite books

I love The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and all other things Tolkien. I also love The Chronicles of Narnia and all things Lewis. The Bible, of course, has always been a great inspiration to me, and I would name it as the most important book I have ever read.

The Parting of Shadows (Book 3....

R. Jason Lynch

Curesoon and Livid think their adventure is over as they begin to make their way home. However, fate has other plans.

Bewildered and crestfallen, Curesoon and Livid think they must return to Freeland without fulfilling Curesoon's quest. However, hope is renewed during a conversation with a very talkative cobbler.

Later, it is also upon their homeward journey that Livid begins to unravel the mystery of who she is and where she comes from.

Will she finally learn why her skin is gray?

The Parting of Shadows (Book 1....

R. Jason Lynch

A shepherdess seeks the truth of who she is, while a bard seeks the truth concerning his faith. Often, reality is not what one expects.

Found in the sands of the desert when she was only newborn, a shepherdess named Livid is oddly colorless, and to most who see her, she seems dreadfully ill. Being a foundling, her past is a complete mystery. The only clue to her true origins is a reoccurring nightmare of a vast, black, and turbulent sea. As the story opens, Livid’s terrifying and yet familiar dream is suddenly enlarged by new and even more bewildering scenes.

Meanwhile, far to the west, a bard named Curesoon has been seeking to find his family. After the death of their fourth child, his wife vanished with their remaining sons. Thus engaged in a search to find his family, the lonely bard sits on the edge of the black bog of Miremurk where he makes ready to enter. Dark tales have been whispered about the place, and though he has tried to dismiss them as fables, a tiny sliver of fear tells him that there may be more truth to the rumors then he cares to admit.

With his first step into the shadows of Miremurk, Curesoon unknowingly embark upon an adventure that will draw in many, including even the gray-maiden named Livid.

The Parting of Shadows (Book 2....

R. Jason Lynch

The adventure continues as Livid leads her new friends across the desert so that Curesoon can find the object of his quest.

Now free, Livid is determined to help Curesoon complete his quest. Thus she uses her knowledge of desert living to help her new friends survive.

After many days of trudging through the dunes of the Weepingwaste, the small group of friends are lost in a sandstorm and finally run into a mysterious wall in the middle of the desert that bars their way.

Will they ever find their way across the Sea of Fire and acquire the Fruit-Glimmering?
