about me

I've tried may jobs, even had a bash at a career. I got bored, incredible bored. Then I discovered the pleasures of writing.

I write comedy and crime fiction, though I don't usually combine the two. Life has a nasty habit of getting in the way of writing, but I try to keep life at bay and indulge in the writing.

Most of the comedy is written from the basis of a true-life event with a liberal sprinkling of 'what ifs'. The crime fiction is just that, pure fiction.

I'm also trying my hand at Flash Fiction which I'm blogging at http://word-weaving.blogspot.com/

I've read quite a few apocalyptic /Armageddon stories, I can honestly say they this is one of the better ones. The battle scenes are intense, the emotions of the characters flood off the page. The mind’s eye easily creates a vivid picture from the descriptions. Your Angels, far from being imperso... view book

This has a good seam of humour running through it. I like the feel of the piece. Your MC is colourful and his dialogue snappy. The dialogue of the other characters is distinctive, no problems keeping track of who is talking. The pace is fast enough to keep the interest going and the action flows sm... view book

This a nice gentle story that I'm sure youngsters will enjoy. It is a tale that I would happily read to my grandchildren. I made a few notes as I read through the first few chapters. I've included a summary below: There is a slight change in style as the book progresses. In the first chapter t... view book

Hi Marita, thought I would give Behind the Hood a read. I found it a very gripping story and the pace is excellent. I was amazed how quickly I reached Nike's section. This is one of the few books that I didn't want to put down. The characterisation is so clear, each personality alive and vibrant... view book
