Chi Lin, the last unicorn on Earth, transports himself and his maiden to Toonopolis in the search for immortality. He does not realize that this has made him a target for Special Agent Mimic of the Agency, who continues his own quest for power and control. Chi Lin finds that defending himself in this cartoon world is not nearly the same as it was on Earth and that the power of imagination, ideas, and a strong sense of humor are essential for survival in this strange, new world.
After his maiden is kidnapped inside Toonopolis by unknown forces, Chi Lin begins a quest to discover new own powers, as his Earthly strength, speed, and magic don't mean anything in a universe where creations can pull items from thin air, recover from any wound, and have powers only limited by their own imaginations. To become strong, Chi Lin will have to embrace a part of himself that he never knew existed: an inner humanity, complete with humility and self-deprecation.
