Three months ago, sixteen-year-old Timber Amherst's world was shattered by an event so traumatic that he can only refer to it as "that." Unable to tell anyone about what happened and plagued by flashbacks and paranoia, he has cut himself off from his old life -- family, friends, school. He finds comfort only in playing lacrosse and beginning a tentative friendship with Tate, a girl who knows loneliness almost as well as Timber does.
