about me

I was born in 1890 in the East End of London and died at the second battle of Krithia at Gallipoli in 1915. Far fetched you might think, but true. I’d show a picture of myself, but I haven’t got one, so ‘the sock’ (as Fran Macilvey calls it), will have to do.

I grew up in the East End, worked there, took advantage of a government scheme and learnt how to farm (it took a week!!), and then left for Australia. I easily got work on a giant of a farm in Queensland, and was doing ok until the Great War started. The last image I have of my life was seeing the carnage and pain as I floated away from the battlefield to where I am now; nowhere. I’ve been alone in nowhere ever since, until that is, I was joined by Jack Painter and Rory Mitchell. They told me their story… and about her. And then they left.

I can see the past, the present and the future, and I desperately need to warn you of what is to come… But I can’t. I can tell you the past and I can tell you the present, but every time I want to tell you about what’s to come, the future key doesn’t work. I know I’m not making much sense, but bear with me.

I understand now that I’ve been left here in nowhere for a purpose; to warn you. When I discovered that I could communicate with you through Authonomy, the first thing I wanted was to tell you my story, but alas, a much more important one has to be told. The story of Jennifer Emmerich. She has no name now, but if you read her story, some of you might recognise her and stop her from… Damn, that key won’t work. Help me. Help humanity. Stop her. Read her story and pass on the message. I reiterate; somehow you must stop her.

Legacy

James Dalton

An innocent girl becomes a pawn amidst a violent quest for revenge and the struggle for power within a vicious crime family.

Jennifer Emmerich knows somebody is out to get her, but she doesn’t know who or why… What she does know is that everybody close to her is in mortal danger. The police point the finger in her direction - but she knows they are looking in the wrong place.

Amy is old and her life is almost at an end. Just one mission remains; to orchestrate the end for 21 year old Jennifer - a desire for revenge for something which happened almost 90 years earlier.

Amy is the matriarch of a huge crime family, and although Jennifer makes a stand, the odds soon begin to stack up against her. At the same time a battle ensues over who takes Amy’s place as head of the family when she dies. The police are having some success in their long running investigation into this brutal and secretive organisation, but they have no idea of the danger Jennifer is in; will they do enough… and in time… to save the girl?

Your writing is terrific, as I’ve found are most authors on this site. Your novel is on my watch list, ready to read in its entirety as soon as I can. Six stars; and will back when I can. James Dalton. view book

I read the first chapter before reading your pitch, so I assumed the story was a straight crime novel. I was thinking; if this isn’t published, what chance do the rest of us have? (Then I read the pitch etc.) I'm not qualified to judge work other than to just about recognise the difference between ... view book

I've just managed your first two chapters (and the prologue) and while I'm not a fantasy lover, the story really captured me. Nice style with loads of action. I've rated it and will def put it on my bookshelf as soon as I can make some space. Well done and good luck. James. view book

I read the first four chapters, quite hard to follow which actually makes it all the more interesting. A sort of English James Ellroy. I'm not qualified to comment other than to say that it's really good, I like it enough to want to read the finished article. Well done, backed and rated. James Dalto... view book
