Dawn of Shadows

Jack Hughes

This is the story the Knights Templar did not want told. The story of why the Holy Grail was never found.

In the summer of 1126, Hugh de Payens, founder of the Knights Templar, discovered a vault beneath the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, a chamber created by Solomon as a reliquary for a treasure unlike any other. Some believed it was a weapon. Others said it was a relic. All Hugh de Payens knows is that it must stay hidden at all costs.

To accomplish this, however, he must create a new order of knights alongside his more famous Templars. An order the world can never know of. As mysterious and deadly as the secrets they protect, an order of the dead. An order of the shadows.

They are the Covenant Knights of Jerusalem.

And this is their story…

Shadow of Winter

Jack Hughes

Some battles can last a lifetime. And some love lasts forever.

Kathryn Fraser never knew why Andre Krauss shot himself, or what his connection might have been to a top secret military project called Prometheus. Or why she was attacked for it in a quiet London street by a sinister hooded assailant.

Five years later, her search for answers to the events that night leads her to a small seaside town and to another bizarre mystery that began with the disappearance of the town's church warden, John Vincent, and with a device recovered from the wreck of a German submarine. But as Kathryn delves further, she make a chilling discovery that pushes her to the very limits of her sanity. A duel is being fought in that small town. A game of strategy that has raged for centuries between good and evil, and has now entered its final stage.

Prometheus, the key to Armaggedon, has been found.

And the last game is about to begin.

Covenant of Shadows

Jack Hughes

The Holy Grail has been found. Now it must remain a secret.

In this sequel to Dawn of Shadows, Remy de Lusignan returns to Jerusalem. Left broken by the death of his beloved wife, Ayla, he hopes to regain his honour by protecting pilgrims as a Poor Knight of the Temple. His old friend and founder of the Templar order, Hugh de Payens, however, has other plans for him. For Remy de Lusignan, having already proved his honour and his courage, is needed elsewhere in the ranks of another military order. An order that, officially, does not exist.

Protected by the utmost secrecy, they are the Covenant Knights: an elite unit of "ghost-warriors" created to protect a devastating weapon that has remained hidden since the time of Solomon. A weapon of untold power that has attracted the attention of another mysterious organisation known only as Omega, who have been searching for the Grail for centuries.

And who will stop at nothing to obtain it...

Compendium

Jack Hughes

A collection of short stories.

This is a collection of short unconnected stories I have written over the past two years. If there is a central theme, however, it would be consequences. Among the areas explored are the long-lasting impact of war, the dark and consuming nature of revenge, the paradox of foreshadowing and how the dead cannot always be relied upon to rest in peace.
