about me

My name is Tom Kilcourse and I am a mancunian who retired to France. I was published widely during my career in management development, mainly in management and academic journals. Now I write short stories, some of which have been published, and I have written two novels. I also have had a few articles on France published in magazines, and have written for 'The News', an English language paper published in France.
I am an ex-miner and ex-bus driver who went to Ruskin College, Oxford in his late twenties, then on to read economics at Hull University. My collection of short stories 'The Human Circus' is now available on Amazon.
Sorry, I do not generally do swaps, but I tend to look at the work of people who leave a comment.

Hello Andrew, I am happy to back this, even though I feel out of my depth with it. I read it yesterday and decided to sleep on it before commenting. The difficulty for me is knowing the level of understanding that children of different ages would have. For instance, the conversation between Tori an... view book

Hello Stuart, I could quickly become a Grogan fan. The dialogue is realistic, as is the character of Grogan. I also like your chapetr endings, leaving the reader wanting to know more e.g. 'Hmm' she said, 'it makes you wonder why the killer buried her there.' My only... view book

Hello Cyrus, A very enjoyable read. You show character well, and I like the way you take us into Deakins home life. I have tried to do the same with my detective. Good luck with it. Tom Kilcourse view book

Whether this is publishable, with some editing, I cannot say, but I feel compelled to back it. It takes me right back to my own childhood in wartime Manchester, and to my own teens and adulthood. Having once been a bus driver in Stockport I know the places described. good luck with it. Tom Kilcours... view book
