After ...

Eddie Toliver

After weaves a tale of survival, betrayal, and secrets that shape the lives of two people struggling in the new world they live in.

Miles Chastain did not want to fall in love with Mia. When the end started, he couldn’t stand her. When the world was ripped nearly in two by the mysterious psy.clones he was forced to rely on her for everything. When he could finally stand on his own he couldn’t leave her. When she bled out beside him as he fought on, he couldn’t get over her. She wasn’t an easy person to love but she was even harder to forget. Now all that’s left for Miles is to avenge her death but the journey to track down those responsible is long and will challenge his reason for living. In the end he discovers that some truths are hard to accept and some realities are harder to trust. When nothing is real then anything is possible. After is written in the vein of Robert R. McCammon with echoes of Frank Herbert. Set against a future reality that is all too possible, After is a dark and bittersweet tale that will not leave you cheering, but will make you think and may cause you to question what you believe.

I appreciate the interest and the comments. You've pinpointed my weakness. While I love to write I am gtrammatically challenged so any help there is appreciated. The static was a good catch. I really try to be realistic and have everything ring true bvut that one just sailed by me. I will be cor... view book

A great opening. You put us right into a pivotal moment in these characters lives. I love the scene with the dying planet. I could literally see the chunks of the planet flying by and the oceans consumed by lava. Well done. After that this seemed to drag a little. Part of this was the daunting si... view book

While this is not real original, the pace and content was enough to keep me engaged through the first four chapters. Zombie tales are like vampire stories, difficult to seperate from the plethora of stories out there. You have a unique angel you seem to be building to and that may be enough, though ... view book

Through the first three chapters and I'm really liking this. This reads effortlessly and the pace is so crisp that it pulls you along. I seriously started to have reservations with the third chapter as the mixture of pure Sci-Fi and high Fantasy was not a good mix. It was a good twist that I didn' s... view book

Not your typical romance novel. This was a fun romp that started out fast and maintained the pace throughout (at least the chapters I read). While the true crime and hardcore thriller fans will mostly roll their eyes at your discrepancies (Night vision goggles, tracking devices and such) your target... view book
