about me

Hi from Broadstairs in England,

WERECREATURES MEET is finished and ready to thrill the world with eighty thousand words of great wisdom and poor humour. I’ve put the beginning on Authonomy and am happy to share comments. There are some really enjoyable reads on this site. Alas, I haven’t enough time to get past the first chapter or two, so sorry if my feedback is limited to the start of your work.

Let’s get our novels rising like flaming phoenixes out of the slush pile!

Werecreatures Meet

Alan Martin

A werewolf and a weregoat have very different aspirations. One wants to rule the world, whilst the other is happy to nibble a futon.

WERECREATURES MEET is a fast-paced humorous fantasy-novel set in the present day. It begins with a giant visiting the nations’ leaders after World War II. He tells them that enough is enough and that anyone who damages the planet will answer to him. Other fantasy races emerge at the same time, with elves, dwarves and orcs all becoming part of everyday life.

This story is about an extremely rich and power-hungry werewolf called Canis Feral who decides that ‘The Giant’ is to become his next prey. The reluctant hero is a weregoat called William Moon. With a forehead harder than granite he would make a formidable foe, if he wasn’t running in the opposite direction.

It is hard to find originality these days (a council working weregoat doesn't really tear down the present boundaries). Have you found anything fresh and interesting on Authonomy that you would recommend? view book

How dare you suggest I ripped off Wallace & Gromit, when I actually ripped off Dungeons & Dragons! If you'd had a childhood as uncool as mine you'd know that werebears, wererats & werecats were all the rage for fantasy board gamers. Which I gave up as soon as I discovered computer games - this rea... view book

A fun first chapter, with enough going on to get the reader intrigued. If I wanted something odd done, my first stop would be the university campus too. Don't worry about the money, just offer the students beer and a take away. I hope it goes well. view book

I found this vision of another world incredible. From the destruction of Xereba to the infiltration of Earth. The descriptive work is first class. All the best. view book

Reads like American Psycho or Fight Club. A lead character with an inner voice which expresses our boredom with how we've been conditionalised into society, then does something about it. Excellent escapism. view book
