about me

Educated and living in West Sussex - a Computer Hardware Designer by day, my desire to start writing came about in 2003. And once I got the seed of my characters, I couldn't put down my pen for developing these, by now, very real people.
My first story, All In One Week, takes place in 1985 and centers on Robyn Alberti. Eighteen months in the writing, it runs to twenty eight chapters, four of which are uploaded here. I wrote two further stories about Robyn, the second happens during 1986 and the third around twenty years later. Broadly, these stories tell of her family, friends, her depression, alcohol dependency and happily, recovery – plus some of the nice surprises that come her way.
I enjoy the challenge of writing a short story - one of which is called Cross My Path and is here to read. It's a tongue in cheek tale of what might have happened to the author of All In One Week once it is published.
My latest work in progress tells of Eleanor, a young orphaned girl in service at a large American family mansion in the late 1800s. She becomes ‘adopted’ by the family and ultimately she inherits the family estate to preserve for future generations.
I thank all of you who backed me and took the time to read my stories. I will endeavour to read and back as many of your works as I am able.

Cross My Path

Successfully published, Andrew asks a raw Andrea to assist in writing a new novel – and to help lay his father’s spirit to rest!

Andrew West’s title for his romantic adventure is All In One Week - renamed by the publisher, it is starting to sell in reasonable numbers. Whilst at Paula’s party he meets Jennifer, a hardened party animal who is captivated by Andrew as much as he is attracted to her – and it’s looking more and more likely they will get together. But Andrew meets and falls for Andrea whilst on his book signing tour; she is, in turn, instantly drawn to him. In her, he sees a young view of life paired with a thin, raw seam of cynicism she has gained from the breakup with ‘boring John’. Her qualities are those he believes will help him with fleshing out characters in a new novel. Feelings for each other remaining unspoken, Andrew offers her a proper job as his assistant and she temporarily moves from her home town in Yorkshire to Brighton. When it becomes very clear how they feel about one another, there is now the not so small matter of convincing his dead father’s restless spirit to be at peace in the knowledge Andrew has found someone to look after him.

All In One Week

Opportunities that would have ordinarily passed her by are grasped by Robyn Alberti since discovering her husband sharing intimacy with his very able assistant.

One day in October 1985, the day before Robyn Alberti is due to travel from her adopted US home to her native UK for Uncle Arthur's funeral, she discovers husband Brad in their bed with able assistant Misty. Undaunted and spurred on by close friend Martha, Robyn makes the trip. Several opportunities arise whereby she is able to draw on a new inner self assurance - like textile guru Patrick Munnery's devious plan to include her in his empire and the chance to do something about the unfulfilled relationship with Grant, her friend since school days in the UK. Someone else who benefits from Robyn's inner strength is Joanne when a plan is hatched to recover money stolen from Joanne and her mother. But strength is something everyone needs when Robyn realises her heart is back in the UK with Grant; clumsily, Grant lets slip he is more keen to develop a burgeoning relationship with Carla, Robyn's closest friend. Crash landed back in reality, Robyn finds comfort with someone who's attention had previously been unwanted - someone who wants to take very good care of her.
