about me

Well, it finally happened. I'M GETTING PUBLISHED!!!!!! 'Gifted' will be released in early 2013 by Turquoise Morning Press. I can't even describe how ecstatic I am!!!! A huge thank you to J.Moore who supported me and critiqued my work, you're an amazing writer and friend. It has never been my intention to reach the editor's desk (which is lucky because I dropped from the 200s to the 5000s since my account was deleted and then revived!), instead this website - along with inkpop.com - has been a source of information, advice, support, friendship and inspiration. I really couldn't have made it without my writer buddies both here and on inkpop.
Well, I just wanted to share the wonderful news with all of you. You can check out my other novels on http://www.inkpop.com/users/ialexandra and follow my publishing journey on twitter and be the first to know when Gifted is released: https://twitter.com/#!/I_Alexandra_

It goes without saying: We ALL love reading and writing here. Immersing oneself in literature is one of the greatest joys in life and one of the most powerful tools of communication and self-expression.

So what would you do if you never had the opportunity to read and write? What would you do if you had no one to read you a bed time story when you were a child? It's a heartbreaking fact, but this is the case for many children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

If you believe in the power of the written word and want to pass on the gift of literacy to disadvantaged kids, PLEASE visit:

GIFTED is a standalone title yet it is also the first book in a trilogy. Stay tuned for the next instalment!

When I say I've been writing all my life, I mean ALL my life. I have memories of my childhood - being tucked away in my bedroom during the summer writing stories, whilst the rest of Australia's youth were frolicking on the beach. Ever since I learned to read and write, I haven't stopped.

And now I am currently AGENT REPRESENTED!!! Woo hoo! I'm a signed author!!! :) :)

Ever get the feeling you can sense what someone else is feeling? Well, maybe you're not so crazy after all.

Lucy Jones possesses an unusual - and extraordinary - ability. Her capacity to physically sense the emotions of others is both a blessing and a curse, eventually driving her to seek refuge from its consequences by fleeing her hometown of Sydney.
The coastal town of Duruga is everything she imagined it would be; sleepy, isolated and void of the emotional chaos that plagued her in the city. But when the mysterious Heath Stone enters her life, Lucy is overwhelmed by startling sensations in his presence. Frightened and intrigued by this uncommon reaction to a person, Lucy is uncontrollably drawn to Heath. Despite her efforts - and the sinister warnings she begins to receive from the townsfolk - she cannot fight the force of her attraction. And when strange events begin to occur and the truth about Duruga’s sordid history is unveiled, Lucy starts to suspect that there may be more to the quiet town – and to Heath – than she had first imagined.
As mysteries unfold and Lucy and Heath’s fates become irrevocably entwined, the answers Lucy has been seeking all her life may be closer than she ever wanted to believe.

This is so well written! I can see why it's going so well on the charts. i'd be reading more if my computer wasn't doing weird things and making the font so small I can't read it! But I'll be back.... picked for now. view book

This is so cool! That sounds trite, but it is! And creepy as hell. You're a talented writer. The opening is awesome - I was drawn in immediately! Backed :) view book

Ok, having read on I feel silly... of course your intent was to make it 'comic like' - it's a video game! Amazingly clever the way you've executed the beginning. I'm impressed. Awesome work!! :) view book

This is fantastic! The opening draws you in like a hollywood blockbuster - it takes hold and doesn't let go. Someone commented that it's akin to a comic book - I think I agree. The imagery it evokes reminds me of 'Sin City'. Well done, this is a fantastic piece of work. Backed! view book

Love the prologue. Replace the word 'tea' with 'wine' and you could be describing me! ;) Lovely and brooding with enough humour to keep it from being too dark. :) Perfect for its genre. Haven't encountered anything like this as of yet - backed!! view book
