about me

I'm a 21 year-old freelance journalist.
I live in two worlds. Reality and the world that I create in my mind. I believe everyone has a story to tell, others are brief as the other fills your mind with intricate detail, laced with truth, almost making their world believable and real. I aim to be someone that's looked up upon. I guess I can be a little bit of a perfectionist, I don't like doing things half-assed. I'm passionate, sarcastic and cynical but yet again, life can be a little straight without my two cents-worth.

Enjoy.

Forbidden Blood

Diana-Jane Berquist

When your hearts in the wrong place, with the wrong person, of the wrong kind, where do you go from there?

"...I hear my heart beating away, then like an echo it thumped and thumped till there was nothing to bounce the sound off, or in this case blood. With one last thud there was silence..."

Charizma L'Ren is a fifteen year old girl that finds out that her adopted family have a secret. They're Vampires. Charizma has always wanted to be involved in James and Blaire's little world of travel and wonder.
When Charizma is given an ultimatum on her sixteenth birthday, she wonders whether her choice will be worth it, or whether it will come at a price that she might not be willing to pay.

When feelings get involved, and friendships aren't as trustworthy as they once were. Charizma fights to see who's going behind her back and who's getting played in a game, where the rules keep changing.
Can Charizma find who's making her perfect life hell without pushing away those who wanna protect her?

My Killer Intuition

Diana-Jane Berquist

A Nephilim named Miah, ridding the world of the 'beautiful monsters' that plague the streets, intoxicating those in their paths with the power of seduction.

Miah is a Nephilim, an offspring of an angel and a mortal, which gives her an immense capacity of power. She's beautiful, talented and smart, the best recipe for an assassin. Being trained at a young age to hunt and kill those 'beautiful monsters' that turn rogue, Miah, continuously puts her life on the line to protect those around her and rid the streets of the intoxicating Vampires, Faeries and Lycanthropes of all blends. Things take a turn of the unexpected as Miah meets an intriguing stranger named Xavier. Immortals aren't usually authorised to stick around once they've fallen from grace. Although Miah finds out that Xavier was brought up by his angelic parent. However this isn't what concerns Miah. His ways of finding information and killing methods are unusual which Miah finds un-nerving to what his motives are.

Though similarities to the genre I write, it's not completely the same but I did quite enjoy what I've read here. I like your descriptions in bringing the reader into your world... and I especially liked your pitch... really drew me into actually reading further! view book

The first line of the first chapter is great! A lot of people tend to judge stories from the first two paragraphs and I'm glad that I read past that, because you have something good here. There a minor punctuation errors, but we're not all professionals here and I'm positive with thorough edit, ... view book

First off reading the pitch I found myself agreeing and really thinking about what you were proposing. And from then it helped me want to read further. So great work with the pitch. What you did to research your work and come up with such a smooth notion without it sounding like a literary docume... view book

This sort of reminds me of the movie 'The Secret Window', but at the same time it doesn't? If that makes any sense. I love the intricate detail that you present with this story. It's easy flowing and easy to read and comprehend, definitely enjoyable. You've painted a great picture that brings the... view book
