about me

Mom of twin two year old terrors, wife, maintenance worker for Amazon.com. Add a dash of a rough childhood and you got a closet writer with an eye for reality slightly canted to left of normal.
Is that enough to get published? Is that enough to hook an audience whose written voices replace their faces?
I don't know but I urge all comers to follow along on my journey here.

**To my fellow writer: I have a hard time shelving so I am watchlisting my likes until I can get them shelved so be patient if I say I back you but you don't show up for a while.

***FELLOW WRITERS PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS BEFORE ASKING ME TO READ YOUR WORK:
I refuse to read anything that subjects kids to harm unless it is EXCEEDINGLY lightly touched on, glossed over but in no way will I willingly read something FICTIONAL that graphically subjects people to rape, abuse or torture, especially children. Please, please don't ask me to read such work. Triple, fliple please don't try to be sly by not including such crimes in the summary. If I start to read something and BOOM, there it is, I will trash you. Hard and with much loathing, As for non-fiction, I'll try to read it and let you know if it's too much for me.
.
It's like knowing what Jeffrey Dohmer did and watching the movie.

You couldn't pay me to watch that movie.

On a more positive note, I will gladly read ANYTHING and with a mind toward the value of the work even if it's not in my favored genres.

To publisher and agents: If Pappy Jack happens to grab your attention, please don't hesitate to drop me a note at ashes2jewels@hotmail.com.

I BACK MISERY'S FIRE AND YOU SHOULD TOO!!

favourite books

Most anything Karen Moning and Neil Gaimen wrote. Then there's the late Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time books, World War Z, zombie and apocalyptic fiction (I am literally scared into a paranoid panic if I watch zombie movies but reading them? I'm fine) Stephen King-his books It and the Talisman/The Black House is what drove me from reading about child abuse,... Can we do what books I hate?

The Adventures of Pappy Jack

Ashes2Jewels

When your grandpa is dead, he shouldn't show up for eggs in the morning but that's what Pappy Jack does. Can Little Jack keep him?

Meet the family Trihn. There's Connie, the mom who rules the kitchen with an iron spoon and thought her family should only eat healthy. Then there's Harold. Harold is, well, the only thing to be said about him is he is the dad of the house and a belt wearer that sneaks a twinkie now and then. Next in line is Little Jack. At eight years old he's always on the hunt for forbidden junk food. Life in the Trihn house, as you can see, is normal old boring.

Until Harold's long lost father Pappy Jack comes back. To Pappy, every day is an adventure and you got to have your suspenders ready. Harold wants him gone but Little Jack wants to keep him. Can Pappy Jack keep his adventures in control so he could stay?

Come and find out but remember: grab hold of your suspenders or you just might lose your pants.

THIS HAS BEEN UPDATED TO INCLUDE THE NEXT TWO CHAPTERS. Gimme enough props and I'll post the rest;)
INTENDED AUDIENCE: Children ages 8-12 including those with only their hearts within range.

I read the whole thing and though I had to skim some parts-I am a horror fan that hates the horror. Bizarre but there you go.- I liked it. You didn't sugar coat the terrible results of a town tripping on shrooms nor offer a pretty ending. You gave the premise life and like life, even when the horror... view book

My main character is also a very...interesting old man. I like what you've done, the colorful differences of your work from the norm. I think I've backed this once but I like it and don't mind doing it again. Ashes2jewels, The Adventures of Pappy Jack view book

To all who've made it this far: thanks a bunch! Many people have commented on my lack of scene, descriptions, things directors wish to know. However, I wrote this exactly how it is on purpose with a premeditated intention of leaving off the crisp detail. Why, you'd ask me, why? Because althoug... view book
