How does thought become a crime?
Matthew Glowers is in Haversham high security prison for a crime too extreme to comprehend. His neighbours are a murdering drug dealer and a serial pedophile. During their time together, they wax lyrical about their relationship to the society that has rejected them, and the thought process behind the crimes they committed. The conversation leads to an earth shattering climax as Glowers reveals his true nature. More a dialectic conversation than a play, Divine could be performed but is more a "play for reading", a deliberate descent into the maelstrom regardless of whether the characters want to go there or not. Prepare to be turned upside down!
