So many to choose from! Deschooling society, by Ivan Illich, is one of the books that has influenced me profoundly. Similarly, 'teaching as a subversive activity', by postman and weingartner. 'The subversion of christianity' by Ellul.

Recent novels I've enjoyed include 'the name of the wind' by patrick rothfuss, 'Inda' by sherwood smith, 'the gate to women's country', by Tepper.
