about me

Time to update my profile. I get bored so easily.

I'm a 26 year old ex-pat living in Cyprus with my dog Jack Daniels, a german shepherd/Collie cross whose favourite time to come for a cuddle is right when I'm in the middle of writing. A week ago I discovered his opinion of my writing, when he decided to chew the version I had printed out for editing.

I also have a cat called Ginny...and about six other local strays that I feed.

None of which has anything to do with my writing. I've been writing for years, and there is very little else that I derive as much pleasure, and pain, from.

My Father's Son is my serious novel. I've spent three years trying to finish it.

The problem is that I get distracted by the thousands of other ideas in my head.

Which led to writing Under A Full Moon, because Chase simply wouldn't go away.

I will always try and return reads - but if you offer a swap read I will always expect you to read one of my books first. Very occasionally when my watchlist is slightly empty (which is almost never) I get to read random books that catch my eye.

favourite books

All Terry Pratchett Books, but especially any of the Night Watch ones and the Witches ones.
Lord of the Rings - all of it, including the Sil, and Unfinished Tales.
The Hobbit (Of course)
The Belgariad series
Harry Potter (it's the big kid in me)
Anne Macaffrey - especially the Pern and Talent books.
Pride and Predjudice
Little Dorrit
And so many more.

Under a Full Moon

N.S Dorrington

He was normal. Ordinary. Now he is anything but, and there are people out there who want him dead. Time to chose a side.

When Chase is bitten by a wild dog, he’s worried he might get rabies. Becoming a werewolf is the last thing on his mind.
After his first change - when he accidentally mauls a man - he finds himself on the run from a shadowy Government organisation known only as the Department.
He finds refuge at a place called The Institute, filled with other kids just like him. Werewolves, Vampires, witches, and a shape-shifter called Vixen.
But the Department is still out there, and now they want to offer him a deal. His life and freedom in exchange for killing a man the government wants dead. It’s up to him to show them he’s not going to be used.

I came across this when just randomly searching through books and the pitch caught my attention. Having read the first couple of chapters I'm going to put this on my shelf because I think it has potential, however I think that it would benefit from some editing. One thing that I noticed was th... view book

I've had this on my watchlist for a little while as it caught my attention. Finally gotten round to reading it. I have to confess that normally I don't like present tense. I find it difficult to read, but in this case I didn't notice it so much. I think because your writing just swept me along. I... view book

I love the Arthurian legends, and so I am very difficult to please. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this or not, but I did! There were a few points that I felt were a little off. Some of the swearwords were out of place. Dolt for example just jarred for example. Otherwise this is going on... view book

I found this by just randomly looking through recent books, and I came to it really wanting to back it as the premise is something that appeals to me. But I can't. I hope you do want some constructive criticism because this really needs some work. The very first sentance of the prologue threw me.... view book
