about me

I try to write in the genre of Colin Batemen, crossed with Chuck Palahniuk - or like Mike Gayle with a hangover.

The idea for my book came about after one too many heart breaks with girls who I knew were far too good for me. Whilst living in Australia, a now ex-girlfriend came up with the idea that we could both have a list of five celebrities we were allowed to sleep with in the highly unlikely event that such an opportunity will ever present itself. I thought nothing of it, having nonchalantly listed the obvious choices (Megan Fox etc) until the following week when I found out that serial sex addict and twice voted 'Shagger of the Year', Russell Brand was coming to town to promote his new film - Get Him to the Greek. The day after his arrival I didn't see my girlfriend for two consecutive nights and obviously feared the worse, Brand being top of her list. She didn't sleep with him I eventually discovered (although one of her work colleagues ostensibly did), but sadly it was enough for her to realise that it wasn't going to work out between us. And out of that busted heart-ache came this - my very own book(y).

I am a slow reader - like to savour a good book when I get the chance to read, but I'm happy to have look and give feedback.

favourite books

Mystery Man - Colin Bateman
Ham on Rye - Charles Bukowski
The Celestine Prophecy (just kidding)

The List

David J Baron

If you could choose any celebrity...

Absent minded under achiever, Luke has a problem. The Love of his life has just left him for the suave womaniser and soon to be megastar, Jeremy Bangs. Luke agrees to his manipulative girlfriend’s suggestion of creating a list of celebrities they can have no strings sex with. Unfortunately, Luke’s girlfriend, Isabella has no problem seducing megastars, and Luke isn’t exactly what most girls would call a catch. Luke encounters a motley crew of celebrities and wannabes as he stalks the country in search of the one girl on his list – the beautiful but aloof, ex Bond girl Simoné Hurtz. On a journey that takes him from a celebrity studded film awards after party, to an exclusive, luxury rehab clinic - Luke’s life is plunged into a world of shady drug dealers, cross-dressing military rejects, rapping octogenarians and self-indulgent celebrities as well as revealing some deep, dark secrets that were probably best left hidden.

Loved this from the start. Also read 'And other textbook symptoms' (hope that doesn't creep you out!) on Spilling Ink, which I thought was absolutely brilliant. I'm surprised this book isn't higher up the ranks but that's not the only reason I'm backing it. This is a funny, articulate and very well ... view book

Really enjoyed reading the first chapter - can see the Harry Potter influence but you have developed your own style and as mentioned in other comments the writing is flawless. I have WL for now and will back once I've read more. Cool front cover too. David view book

Hi Lesa I'e only read the first chapter but thought I would leave some feedback. I enjoyed the dialogue between the MC and other characters - very believable and a few good lines in there too - 'Stop trying to pair the world up...' for example. I felt the dialogue could have been broken up with m... view book

George seems to take everything in his stride - reminds of a character from one film or another but I can't put my finger on it. He's a great character none the less. Sorry Matt but I have only read the first couple of chapters as I have a few more to get around but I will come back for more. Your w... view book

I read the first chapter of this charming story this evening. It's a world away from my normal cup of tea but so elegantly written I really enjoyed it. I wish you the best of luck with this. Whether it's a persons faith in religion or something completely different this story will probably strike a... view book
