about me

Isn't life funny? There I was, taking a break from driving the Tube beneath London and, with the cup of tea in hand, the conversation got around to reincarnation and I brought up the topic of ghosts and the possibility that ghosts are what people might become when they die, but only if.... I'll let that hang there for now. You'll have to read the book.
You see, I'm a fanatical reader - mostly fiction, however, I never thought of writing a book; well, maybe I did. There's a couple of stories (true ones) on my website.
My book is self-published, ISBN 978-0-9551341-0-4 but what you see here is the final copy before proofing. It's a chunky book and I hope it makes you laugh and brings up some talking points.
While creating the story on the train, going up and down the Northern Line, I imagined the passengers reading it and laughing for a change instead of feeling tired and depressed. I hope "I Laughed The Day I Died" does the same for you. It's not laughs all the way, but most of the time - however, you must have a 'wicked' sense of humour. After all, this is from the ghost's point of view. You might find the start ...er, shocks a little.... but, ha ha, stay with it. Will it draw you in? I hope so.
Personally, I'm not at all like the main character - I'm a family man and I'm encouraging my grandchildren to use their imagination both in school and in life. Imagination is fun and the mind is a wonderful asset.

Ghosts! Are they really the souls of people haunting buildings; vengeful spirits?
This story is a humorous insight into what might actually be.

Imagine a world where ghosts exist, alongside the living, going about their normal everyday ghostly work. Imagine being a ghost and going to your own funeral and joining the family in the pub afterwards, in so doing putting your new life in danger.
Micky has just returned as a ghost; something he'd dreamt of many times while alive. He thinks that he'll be able to go wherever he likes, but finds things aren't as first imagined. He can't fly nor pass through walls but with help, he soon learns the art of ghosting.
Other ghostly characters come into his life - Jana, his Ghost Monitor, and Anna, his Tutor, who both died in tragic circumstances in the early 1600's, and Sean, a jovial Irishman and womaniser. However, Micky has a devil of a time trying to find true happiness, although plenty of females are after his body.
What Micky lost in life he gets back in death, including a reduction in age. There many types of ghosts, Haunters and Mindbenders to name but two, and while Micky tries to fit in he encounters several problems.
So live with Micky as he sets out on his life as a ghost.

Phil, I really enjoy the story so far - wasn't sure at first but it has great interest and is developing into a 'I have to know what happens with Leon and how does he combat Carl'. Very easy to read and many will enjoy the story. Looking forward to more. Jim view book

Tonia, I like what I have read so far, it is a great start for a romance with a difference. I also like thrillers with enjoyable characters, bad or good, but other than Frank trying to get into Chloe's drawers and him being floored and kicked by Chloe(nice touch) still no sign of the baddy biker. ... view book
