about me

I was born and raised in northern California (Palo Alto, Ca.), but have been living in Israel since 1994. I have a BA in English from San Diego State University (SDSU) and recently completed an MA in Creative Writing (in English) at Bar-Ilan University in Israel. I have published a number of short-stories online and a few articles (short essays) in print (in The Jerusalem Post). I enjoy playing pick-up softball and surfing the internet. I still follow my hometown baseball team, the San Francisco Giants.

Sukkah of Dreams

Yonatan Sredni

A collection of fictional short stories that combine Judaism and Baseball.

My short stories combine my love of baseball with my Jewish background, but they are also stories that can be appreciated even if you are not Jewish or (dare I say) not a baseball fan. They have warmth, humor, and messages that transcends religion, culture, and even baseball. So, step up to the plate and have a read!

Yasmin, as you read the whole story, you come to understand that Mel comes around and learns to respect them. But you're right, the line could be changed (and his feeling 'implied'). My parents are from Mexico and many friends who are Latino have read it and not had a problem, but your point is stil... view book

The quotes of the funny things your kids say are classic! Move over, Erma Bombeck! I laughed out loud a few times! I am happy to BACK this book and hope others read it too! If you have a chance, read my short stories, 'Sukkah of Dreams'. Yonatan view book
