about me

All you need to know about me is that I have a cat, a tom, who is so spoilt, he comes and meows, softly but persistently, demanding that I get up and go stroke him while he eats.
And guess what. I go.
Anyone who has cats will know the answer to this question. Who has a stronger will? The human, or the cat?

Only a portion is uploaded, but Bad Bishop is complete at, a rather hefty (as fantasy often is), 250,000 words.

I shall endeavour to upload a good-sized chunk of it, so as, those that way inclined, can get a better picture of the overall structure.

History is not something that happened to other people. History is a memory.

“He allowed himself the momentary, unspoken admission that he had tired with the world, its never-ending grasping greed, petty pride, blind fanaticism and insatiable hunger for power, he admitted that he wished to witness no more pain and suffering, and see no more death. Like mayflies the humans round him were born, bred, suffered and then died, but unlike mayflies they were aware of their suffering and expected their end, and he could see it in their eyes and hear the constant whisper of dread in their minds, everywhere around him. He had tired of this too. He had stood, for millennia, alone it seemed, in the middle of a surging river of death that raced and endlessly poured away around him; endlessly moving, endlessly changing and yet remaining the same.”

I've read six chapters in one go and I can only say that this is marvellous. Funny, engaging and well-written. I will be coming back to read everything's that's posted. Something that's stuck in my head since I started reading --and the impression has not faded-- is that it reminds of Terry Pratchet... view book

It's taken me forever to comment on this, one reason being I'm slow reading online because it's so tiring, the other being that coming up with something meaningful to say required some serious thought. Firstly, and the greatest compliment I can ever make a book, Mother Knows Best is interesting. It ... view book

I had been looking for something like this to read here, for the past couple of months. "Like this" being a fantasy with some grit. Having finally found this, I read all that is uploaded in one sitting. I love your style -- your voice -- the very vivid imagery (both internal and external). I love th... view book
