about me

Just turned 40.... the experience of having a child prompted me and four 'fellow adventurers' to put our experiences and views into words so that others could read, empa/sympathise and enjoy.
This book is the story of 5 new fathers told in an honest and humorous way...

Enjoy...

Virgin Dads

Mark Kirby, Andy Smith, Ed Mar....

Five New Dads.......... Five New Babies..... Five wonderfully truthful and funny stories.... Live their laughs, experiences, prejudices and love...

VIRGIN DADS The bringing of a child into the world is, at least, a joint effort between the mother and father. However, ask yourself the question, ‘How well defined is the fathers role in modern society and how honestly and widely expressed are the fathers’ opinions, fears, joys and experiences?’. There are a number of ‘guides’ on the bookshelves but they often take a narrow view of experience and neglect perhaps the greatest communication tool we possess – humour. This book breaks the mould and is an honest (warts ‘n’ all) and funny account of how five first time Dads approached the birth of their child from before conception right through to the baby at 6 months old. These are true accounts and so it is an autobiographical approach. The ‘story’ unfolds as for every chapter (covering subjects as diverse as, the conception, telling the grandparents, boy or girl, the name, and explaining the changing relationships as time went on) each author describes their inner thoughts and share their regrets, fears, joys and misconceptions!

Hi Lyndsey, Just started going through your first few chapters... and... I like it. I didn't think I would as, not having the equipment myself, I didn't think I'd be able to 'connect'. But it is a really good light hearted look at what, according to my wife, can be an absolute hell for some wome... view book
